The body length is about 16 cm. Small tail, bald head. The mouth is short and dark brown. The iris is chestnut brown. The crown of the head is black and maroon, with brown and white crown lines running through the center and longitudinal lines of the same color on both sides, reaching from the base of the mouth to the side of the neck; the forehead, chin and throat are light brick red.
