Perennial herbs, 1-2 m high. Rhizome stout, erect. Petiole hard, length up to 60 cm, base covered with narrow linear brown scales; leaf ovate lanceolate, length 40-120 cm, width 25-40 cm, 1-pinnate compound leaf, apex adnate to the nearest lateral pinna; pinnae mostly, oblique, alternate, narrow linear, length 15-23 cm, width 1-1.5 cm, acuminate, sessile, entire; leaves subcleathery, veinlets dense, parallel, forked or elongated The sporangium group is linear and grows along both sides of the middle rib.
It grows under the forest or in the wetland near the stream. It is distributed in southwest and South China, to Hunan, Jiangxi, Zhejiang and other places.
