Annual erect herb, 30-100 cm high. Stem square, covered with inverted dense pubescence, leaves opposite; lanceolate, 2.5-8.5 cm long, 1-3.2 cm wide, apex acute, base cuneate, margin with coarse serrate above middle, both sides with short hairs, glandular dots below; short stalk. There are 2-6 flowers in the flower ring, integrating into interrupted racemes, terminal or axillary; bracts ovate lanceolate, pilose; calyx campanulate, lip shaped, upper lip 3-toothed, middle tooth largest, ovate, teeth on both sides triangular, lower lip 2-toothed, lanceolate, outer pubescent; corolla white, upper lip degenerate, lower lip lobes 5; stamens 4,2-strong, protruding; style tip 2-lobed. 4 small nuts, obovate, black, with white spots on them. The flowering period is from August to September. The fruiting period is October.
Born in the wet area of hillside. It is distributed in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hubei, Sichuan, Guizhou and Yunnan.
