[plant morphology] Cynodon hainanensis
Shrub, 1-3m high, smooth. The root is straight and thick, with few branches. The young branches are angular and contain a lot of milk. Leaves opposite, each pair unequal in size, long ovate, 5-10 cm long, 2-4 cm wide, apex acute, base cuneate; stipitate. Cymes axillary; calyx 5-lobed, with glands inside; flowers white, corolla high pedunculate, tube cylindrical, middle or above slightly expanded, lobes 5, expanded; stamens inserted in the middle or above of corolla tube, embedded, anthers separated from stigma; carpels 2, separated. Two follicles are in the shape of divergent horn with curved beak and red when ripe. It blooms in summer.
It grows in the bush of hillside and hill. It is distributed in Guangdong and other places.
