The root of the plant is from the whole family Arnebia.

Annual erect herb, 15-50 cm high, coarsely hairy. Leaves opposite or alternate, ovate to ovate oblong, 3-8 cm long, slightly hairy, apex short pointed or acuminate, base extending down to petiole. Spikes terminal or opposite to leaves, 3-10 cm long, curved, flowers all on one side of the common axis, the lowest first open; calyx green, 5-lobed; corolla light blue or near white, tubular, throat bare, lobes 5, expanded, corolla about 5 mm long, diameter 3-3.5 mm; stamens 5, included; style terminal, with a flat conical disk at the top. The fruit is 4-5 mm long and consists of two ovoid nutlets. The flowering period is summer and moon.

Born in open land, river and stream. It is distributed in Guangxi, Fujian, Guangdong, etc.

[clinical application] treating carbuncle and furuncle

Take 60 g of dried product, chop it up, add 100 ml water, and fry it over low heat until 500 ml. 20 ml each time, 3 times a day after meals. Children should be reduced. Among 213 cases, 37 cases were cured in 1-3 days, 96 cases in 4-5 days, 52 cases in 6-10 days and 28 cases in more than 10 days. Preliminary observation showed that it was effective in the early stage of carbuncle and furuncle, suppurative stage and tissue necrosis stage, and the effect of early use was better.
