[plant morphology] Sapindus yunnanensis

Deciduous trees, 10-15m high. Branches with dark yellow lenticels, new branches with dark yellow gray pubescence. Double pinnate compound leaves, alternate, with stipes 20-35 cm long. Leaflets 8-14, ovate to oblong, 6-14 cm long and 2.5-6 cm wide, apex acuminate, base rounded or obtuse, both sides asymmetric, entire, both sides sparsely pubescent along veins. Inflorescence terminal, 12-25 cm long, pubescent with petiole; flowers small, white; sepals 5, ovate, base dark purple, margin submembranous, ciliate; petals usually 4, elliptic or obovate elliptic, 4-5 mm long; disk to one side; stamens 8. Shorter than petals: ovary densely hairy. Drupe spherical, smooth, 15-18 mm in diameter, fleshy pericarp; seeds dark brown, bright. The flowering period is from May to June. The fruit period is from September to October.

It grows in dense forest, valley, field edge or sparse forest. It is distributed in Yunnan, Sichuan and other places.
