Herbs perennial, 8-12 cm high. Rhizome creeping, root filiform, middle or apical caking. Leaves basal; petiole slender, 4-6 cm long, densely white pilose; stipules ovate to lanceolate; 3-palmate compound leaves, leaflets obovate or ovate rhombic, 1.5-3 cm long, 1-2 cm wide, apex rounded, base cuneate, margin coarsely serrate above middle, both sides covered with white pilose. 1-3 flowers on the top of the stem, receptacle villous; sepals 5, lanceolate, pilose; epicalyx 5, narrowly lanceolate; petals 5, obovate or suborbicular, white; stamens numerous; carpels numerous; receptacle enlarged when fruiting, fleshy, red at maturity. Achenes numerous, clustered on receptacles. The flowering period is from May to June. The fruit period is from June to July.
Born in valley and forest margin. It is distributed in Qinghai, Hubei and other places.
