Perennial herbs. Stems prostrate, branched, fleshy, brownish green, up to 25 cm. Leaves alternate, with very short stalks, arranged in two rows on the stem. Leaves ovate or narrowly elliptic, oblique, 2-5 cm long, apex acuminate, base very oblique heart-shaped, margin above the middle of sparse teeth, dark green above, attached to fine hair, light green below, few hairless. Flowers small, monoecious or dioecious, male inflorescence umbelliform, pedunculate, perianth 5, obovate, angular, stamen 5; female inflorescence slightly globose, sessile. It blooms from June to August.
Born in wet forest, stream, ditch. Distributed in Zhejiang, Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou, Hunan, Jiangxi, Fujian, Taiwan, Anhui and other places.
