Cold rice ball
Evergreen climbing shrub, 3-6M long. Leaves alternate, oblong to ovate lanceolate, 8-17 cm long and 3-6-8 cm wide, apex pointed, base cuneate to obtuse, entire, leathery, subglabrous, 6-7 lateral veins on each side; petiole 1-2 cm long. Flowers red or yellow, reddish, unisexual, monoecious, solitary in leaf axils; male perianth 10-16, outermost smallest, ovate, about 5 mm long, largest oblong to ovate elliptic, 12-25 mm long, stamens 14-48, 2-5 whorls arranged; female perianth similar to male, pistil group ovate to subglobose, carpel 50-80, 5-7 whorls arranged. The aggregate fruit is nearly spherical, 6-10 cm in diameter, red or black purple when ripe. The flowering period is from April to July. The fruit period is from August to December.
It is distributed in Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, Hunan, Guangxi, Guangdong and other places.
