Li Jiansheng
Li Jiansheng (1908-1990), female, is a famous democratic patriot. Zhang Bojun's wife. He is from Huaian, Hebei Province. He graduated from the Medical College of Peking University. He joined the provisional Action Committee of the Kuomintang in 1931. Later, he worked in the Hong Kong Action Committee for the liberation of the Chinese nation. During the Anti Japanese War, women actively engaged in Anti Japanese and national salvation activities. In 1942, he joined the Chinese democratic political League and served as the Secretary of the central women's Committee. In 1944, she participated in the organization of the Chinese women's Association. During the war of liberation, Hong Kong and Kowloon Women's Association and women's production cooperatives were established. In 1947, he was elected as an alternate member of the central executive committee of the Chinese peasants and Workers Democratic Party. He attended the first plenary session of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference in 1949. After the founding of the people's Republic of China, he successively served as counsellor of the Ministry of supervision, deputy director of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of health, President of the Beijing Red Cross Society, deputy director of the central women's Committee of the China Democratic League, executive member of the all China Women's Federation, member of the Fifth Central Committee, alternate member of the Sixth Central Committee, member of the Seventh Central Committee, standing member of the Eighth Central Committee and member of the central medical and Health Committee of the agricultural and industrial Democratic Party of China Deputy director of the health work committee. During the cultural revolution, it was severely impacted. Since 1987, he has been the vice chairman of the Central Advisory Committee of the Democratic Party of agriculture and industry. Member of the second and fifth national committees of the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference and standing member of the sixth and seventh national committees.
Before liberation
In 1928, Li Jiansheng returned from Shanghai to Beijing and was admitted to the Medical College of Peking University. When he was in school, he was received by Deng Yanda and joined the provisional Action Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang led by Deng Yanda, the predecessor of the agricultural and industrial Democratic Party. After Deng Yanda was killed by the Kuomintang authorities, Li Jiansheng angrily took people to the Kuomintang Beijing Garrison headquarters to post anti Jiang slogans.
In 1933, Li Jiansheng once again abandoned his studies and went south to take part in the democratic revolutionary movement. He married Zhang Bojun and became a professional revolutionary.
First, she took part in the anti Jiang and anti Japanese activities of Fujian people's government. Then, under the guidance of the Anti Japanese national united front of the Communist Party of China, she joined in the revolutionary activities of uniting against Japan. She went to Wuhan, Chongqing and other places to help Zhang Bojun contact progressives, discuss work and arrange life. She met many famous patriots, scholars, professors and important figures of the Communist Party. In Chongqing, he participated in the "Chinese women's Association" organized by Deng Yingchao and actively engaged in Anti Japanese and national salvation activities.
During the war of liberation, together with other comrades, she established the Hong Kong Kowloon Friendship Association and the women's production cooperative, and did a lot of work conducive to the democratic revolution and the women's movement.
After liberation
After the liberation of the whole country, Li Jiansheng devoted himself to the construction of the new regime with more enthusiasm and vigorous energy. She attended the first plenary session of the first national women's Congress and the Chinese people's Political Consultative Conference, participated in the first condolence mission to the DPRK and the land reform mission, and visited the Soviet Union, India, Myanmar and other countries.
As deputy director of Beijing Health Bureau and President of Beijing Red Cross Society, she has also made contributions to the health cause of Beijing.
During the anti rightist movement in 1957, Li Jiansheng was treated unfairly, and suffered more severe impact during the "Cultural Revolution".
Since 1987, Li Jiansheng has successively served as a member of the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Democratic Party of agriculture and workers, vice chairman of the Central Advisory and Supervision Committee of the Central Committee of the Democratic League of China, deputy director of the central women's Committee of the Democratic League of China, member of the fifth CPPCC National Committee, member of the sixth and seventh CPPCC Standing Committee, and executive member of the first, second and fifth sessions of the all China Women's Federation.
After the death of Ms. Li Jiansheng in 1990, Xinhua news agency said that she was a famous patriot and an old friend of the Communist Party of China. He praised her for her contribution to China's socialist cause and the reunification of the motherland.
In 1993, Li Jiansheng's children donated 321 pieces of famous calligraphy and paintings and 200000 yuan to establish Li Jiansheng Education Fund in her hometown Huaian County to support the development of education. Huaian County has set up an exhibition room of Li Jiansheng's life in chaigoupu town to commemorate the heroine.
