Main story
Retreat without rest
Guo Yaohua, a 77 year old teacher, is pretty and amiable. Guo Yaohua told reporters that he was born in Shipu, Xiangshan County. At the age of 4, his mother died and he settled in Shengzhou with his brother. In 1950, he came to Xinchang middle school to study in junior high school. During his study in school, Guo Yaohua devoted himself to reading, reading a lot of novels, and liked writing. He once served as the editor in chief of the "team life" column of the school blackboard newspaper, and mastered a relatively solid foundation of knowledge. After graduating from junior high school, Guo Yaohua was employed as a substitute teacher. He became a regular teacher in 1956. Since then, he has been engaged in education in Xinchang. He has been a senior Chinese teacher in Huishan District School and xintianshe school. In 1969, he was transferred to Anting middle school to teach junior high school. During his teaching in Zhongcai middle school, he went to TVU for three years. In 1996, Mr. Guo Yaohua, who has been teaching for 42 years, retired from Daonan middle school. However, in his own words, he was "retiring" because he was still working in the school at the invitation of the school at that time, and this stay lasted for eight years. In February 1999, Guo Yaohua's wife died of illness. Because the three children have already worked and settled down in the city, he lives alone in the old house. He works in school during the day, but he feels lonely at night. In order to enrich his spiritual life, Guo Yaohua began to regain his old dream and read martial arts novels. From Jin Yong and Gu Long to Liang Yusheng and Wen Ruian He bought what he could, and borrowed it if he couldn't. in four or five years, he read all the martial arts novels "Four Heavenly Kings". Guo Yaohua is well-known and covers a wide range of subjects. In those years, he spent more than 2000 yuan on mail order books of literature, history, medicine, astronomy and geography. during his stay in Daonan middle school, Guo Yaohua gave full play to his strong points and took the initiative to serve as the instructor of the news school. Besides guiding students, he actively contributed to the outside world. He successively published more than 60 articles on extracurricular reading knowledge in journals such as reading guidance for junior middle school students. After reading martial arts novels, he was inspired by them and had the idea of creating martial arts novels. Guo Yaohua said that among the "Four Heavenly Kings", except Wen Ruian, who once opened a martial arts school, the other three did not know martial arts as well as he did. All martial arts moves were imaginative. In 2004, Guo Yaohua began to devote himself to the creation of martial arts novels.
A sword in six years
After returning home, Guo Yaohua read books and newspapers every day, sorted out his writing materials, conceived the framework of his first novel, and planted several vegetable fields at the same time. His life was still quiet and full, and he had no spare time. for Guo Yaohua, who has never tried to write a novel, the beginning is very difficult. "It's been repeated for half a year at the beginning. Sometimes I don't have a clue when I sit at my desk all day." Guo Yaohua said, "the plot of the novel is based on the character and relationship of the characters, so I first made a list of the character relationship, and then unfolded the plot according to this list." After repeated deliberation, the novel the ancient city wind and cloud has taken shape. "The old city wind and cloud" is a story about Xinchang (the novel's "Shicheng") big Buddhist temple, Chuanyan 19th peak, Tianmu Mountain and other places of interest as the background, in which many of Xinchang's traditional customs and local products are inserted. It is a martial arts novel belonging to Xinchang. To write a good novel, a lot of material accumulation is essential. Over the years, Guo Yaohua has developed the habit of collecting and clipping newspaper materials. He will sort out his interesting and useful contents regularly and put them in different cartons for reference and textual research. The reporter saw a box of information about Xinchang beside his desk, many of which were newspaper clippings of Xinchang today. Guo Yaohua said that many historical stories, poems, calligraphy and paintings, as well as the geography, customs and specialties related to Xinchang in the old city Fengyun have been repeatedly researched. He also said that he was most afraid of "fighting back and forth" when writing novels. If there are contradictions and other loopholes, readers will not be convinced. For this reason, he racked his brains to write during the day and conceive at night. from January 2004 to June 2010, the creation of the ancient city took more than six years. During this period, it was written, changed and written. The draft alone weighed more than 30 jin. "Because I can't use a computer myself, I went to a computer store to print it. After several rounds of proofreading, I finally got a print. But after checking, we still found a lot of typos, so we proofread it again in June and July last year, and it's the way it is now. " With that, Guo Yaohua handed over a thick finished book. Although there was no exquisite binding and no official publication, the pages and sentences of the book showed the old man's enthusiasm and perseverance.
I've been working hard
In September 2011, Guo Yaohua sent the printed version of the ancient city to the monthly magazine Department of "Legends of the past and the present: Martial Arts Edition" in Wuhan. Soon after, the Department told that the age of the readers of this manuscript was not suitable for the readers of their magazine, so he declined. However, this did not reduce Guo Yaohua's enthusiasm for creation. Instead, he began to conceive a second novel, a martial arts story about a thirteen or fourteen year old boy. this martial arts novel named "little master Hanshan mountain" creates an innocent, witty and kind-hearted young Hanshan mountain. It is also a work rooted in Xinchang with the background of wanmadu, Banzhu, Wozhou lake and other Xinchang landscapes. Moreover, the names of all kinds of martial arts moves and routines in the novel are all derived from Tang poetry related to Xinchang. Guo Yaohua said: "when writing the ancient city, I often ponder over the names and movements of various moves. All the scenes are based on my own imagination. Sometimes I can't think of a move after sitting for a long time. But when I wrote the second book, it suddenly occurred to me that maybe I could take Tang poetry as the theme. " For example, in Li Bai's poem "sleepwalking with Tianmu chanting goodbye", Tianmu's "crossing the sky" is used as a swift and violent move in the stick moves, "the stone door of the cave roars open" refers to the carp's fight, "flying through the mirror lake moon overnight" refers to the superb lightness skill; another example is the famous sentence "flying down 3000 feet" in wanglushan waterfall, which is skillfully used to describe a kind of diving speed It's a good move. This innovative use can be said to be a major feature of little master Hanshan. On the verge of completing his second novel, Guo Yaohua began to conceive his third novel. "Reading at sunrise and writing at sunset" has become the norm of his creation. Sometimes, when inspiration comes, the pen can't stop. It almost stops writing until he is hungry. "I really like reading and writing." Guo Yaohua said. Perhaps it is this kind of love that he has persisted to the present and will still firmly go on the road of literary creation. The old man's enthusiasm for literary creation is moving.
