Introduction to Lichuan dengge
Applicant: Lichuan City, Hubei Province
Lichuan, located in the southwest of Hubei Province, is a county-level city in Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture. Since ancient times, it has always been the settlement of Ba people and their descendants Tujia people.
Lichuan dengge (also known as dengdiao) is a traditional folk song of Tujia people. It is a traditional folk song with colorful dragon boats and car lights as the main props. According to Quan Youfa (69), the 17th generation descendant of Lichuan Baiyang dengge, Lichuan dengge began in the early Qing Dynasty. It was first formed by Tan Gongchao (drummer and song Master) and Qiao Guofu (nicknamed "Qiao Yaomei") who combined local traditional folk songs, gongs and lanterns . Before the founding of the people's Republic of China, there were 16 Dynasties: Fu, Jiu, yuan, Yi, Kang, Yong, Chang, De, Gao, Nian, Le, Jiu, Tian, Mei and Zuo, with a history of about 300 years.
The contents of Lichuan lantern songs are mainly congratulation, farming, scenery and customs, and love between men and women. There are both traditional aria and improvisation. The most common sentence patterns of lyrics are seven character sentences with four characters and three characters with lining words (or lining sentences), and five character sentences with five characters (or cross sentences with five characters) with lining words (or lining sentences). There are many modes of "Zheng" and "Yu", and the melody is descending, jumping and advancing. The most typical tone structure is "three tone tune". Lining words and sentences are rich and interesting. They go forward and backward, sing songs to the festival, play gongs and drums, row boats and sing a song, which is peaceful and warm. Props colorful dragon boat is an artistic simulation of dragon boat race for sacrificing Qu Yuan. Rowing on dry land, greeting and blessing, ingenious design. The traditional songs, such as modes, sentence patterns, popular regions and the family of singers, are closely related to the Ba songs and Zhuzhi songs sung by ancient Ba people. They are one of the carriers of Ba songs and Zhuzhi songs in Lichuan.
