Introduction to Tibetan Opera (Seda Tibetan Opera)
Applicant: Seda County, Sichuan Province
Seda Gesar Tibetan opera originated from Zhiqin temple in Qinghai Province. In its early stage, it was the temple music and dance of dancing God, also known as "Mask Dance". It takes the traditional eight Tibetan operas as its content and performs in major Buddhist activities, accompanied by suona, manghao, drum, cymbal and other musical instruments.
Seda Tibetan Opera is the representative of northern Tibetan opera, which has a long history and is full of innovation. The rich Gesar culture and profound Tibetan opera art tradition in Seda County of Sichuan Province have laid the foundation for the formation and development of Gesar Tibetan opera. In 1948, on the basis of Anduo Tibetan opera, the living Buddha SEDAR riluo boldly innovated, added scenes, props and string instruments to Tibetan opera, and adapted and created zhimeigengdeng, zhuowassam and other operas. In this process, he cultivated a large number of Tibetan Opera talents, which made Tibetan Opera widely spread in Seda and became the most popular folk art in the local area. In 1981, a group of Gesar research experts and Tibetan Opera experts, led by Bama taloren poche, a famous scholar in Seda County, successfully transplanted the epic of King Gesar into Tibetan opera, and integrated the art forms of zhega rap, playing and singing, folk songs, dance, Gesar rap, costume performance, folk story singing, etc. into the unique singing, which fully demonstrated the deeds of King Gesar, Good ornamental effect was obtained. Seda Gesar Tibetan opera not only has the characteristics of northern Tibetan opera, but also goes beyond the barriers of northern Tibetan opera.
With the heroic epic "King Gesar biography" as the performance content, Seda Gesar Tibetan drama makes people feel the shocking power of the epic and inspires people to bravely pursue a better life in an artistic way. It liberates Tibetan opera from the religious atmosphere of temples and turns it into a kind of folk art. Its content and form tend to be secularized, humanized and popular, which is of great significance to carry forward the excellent culture of ethnic minorities and promote the spiritual civilization construction of Tibetan areas.
