Jinfeng town belongs to Zhangjiagang City, Jiangsu Province, and is located in the Yangtze River Delta. It was formed in 2003 by the merger of the original Jinfeng, Sanxing, Hexing and Donglai towns. It is the center of the northern area of Zhangjiagang City, Jiangsu Province.

History of construction
In 1874, Changtong port was built between Changyinsha and liuhaisha in Beisha. The southern part of the port belonged to Changshu, and the northern part of the port was under the jurisdiction of Tongzhou. In the late Qing Dynasty and the early Republic of China, the area to the south of Changtong port was governed by Shazhou municipal autonomous Office of Changshu County, which was located in Hexing Town, and then moved to Xigang town. in 1911, Xuantong was governed by the board of directors of the autonomous Committee of liuhaisha township. in August 1929, Changshu County implemented the district township system, with the district governing the township. Gangnan district was under the jurisdiction of the fourth district (Nansha District) of Changshu county. In April 1934, Xigang District was rezoned as the seventh district, namely Xigang District. In January of the 30th year of the Republic of China (1941 A.D.), Jinfeng area belonged to Dongsha District, and then divided into Ganxi district and Zaishan district by the boundary of Ergan river. In May 1946, Changshu county was expanded and merged with towns, and Baojia was reorganized. Xigang District was renamed Shazhou district. In 1928, it was under the jurisdiction of Sanxing Township, liuhaisha District Administrative Bureau, and its administrative office was located in Sanxing town. During the period of the Japanese puppet regime, it belonged to Changshu county. In April 1949, Liu Haisha, formerly under the jurisdiction of Nantong, was transferred to Changshu County, while Jinfeng's land to the north of Changtong port was transferred to Beigu Township, Shazhou district. In February 1950, the Baojia system was abolished, administrative village groups were set up, and districts and townships were readjusted and divided. Shazhou is divided into three new districts: Changyin, Shazhou and Nanfeng. Jinfeng district is under the jurisdiction of Shazhou district and Changyin district. In 1956, Minfeng township was merged into Jinfeng township. On July 15, 1957, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged. Jinfeng Township, Nanxing Township, DianAn Township and Xigang Township in Jinfeng district were merged into Jinfeng township. In February 1958, Changshu County abolished the district level system, and Jinfeng township was directly under the jurisdiction of Changshu County People's government. In September 1958, Shazhou people's commune was established, and the original administrative Township and village were abolished. Jinfeng township was changed into Jinfeng work area, and the village was changed into a brigade. The brigade had a company and platoon establishment, and the system of political and social integration was implemented. In January 1959, Shazhou people's commune was abolished and dongshazhou and xisshazhou people's communes were established. Jinfeng work area was subordinate to xisshazhou people's commune. In January 1962, Shazhou county was established and Jinfeng people's commune was under the jurisdiction of Shazhou county. In September 1978, two production teams of Minfeng brigade in the west of Er Gan River were set aside to build a seed farm. In 1981, the Revolutionary Committee of the commune was abolished and the management committee system of the commune was restored. In September 1986, the county was removed and the city was established. Jinfeng township was under the jurisdiction of Zhangjiagang City. On December 5, Jinfeng withdrew its township to build a town. In May 1991, the residents committee of Jinfeng town was established. In September 1995, fengle village was merged into Lianxing village. In July 1997, the seed farm was put under the management of Xiangyang village. In 2003, Jinfeng town was formed by merging the former Jinfeng Town, Sanxing Town, Hexing town and the former Donglai town.
