Huazhuang street is located in the south of the main urban area of Wuxi, which belongs to Wuxi economic development zone. Huazhuang street was formerly known as huadafangzhuang, later referred to as today's name. Huazhuang town was established in 1949, changed to Huazhuang Township in 1950, and called Hongqi commune in 1958. In 1983, it was changed to Hongqi township. In 1985, the township was removed and Huazhuang town was established. In June 2002, the former Huazhuang town was merged with Xin'an town to form Huazhuang town. Xin'an town is located in the east of Huazhuang Town, covering an area of 37.4 square kilometers. Because yuan set up Xin'an inspection department here, it was named. Xin'an town was established in 1949, township was established in 1950, and people's commune was established in 1958. In 1983, it was changed into a township, and in 1988, it was changed from a township to a town. In 2006, the town was removed and the street was set up.

Huazhuang street industry started early and is one of the key industrial towns in Wuxi. At present, there are nearly 800 industrial enterprises, which have formed eight pillar industries, including machinery, metallurgy, light textile, electromechanical, light industry, building materials, electronics and chemical fiber. The town's fertile land, climate is suitable, pollution-free rice, Wuxi peach, Taihu Lake aquatic products and other well-known at home and abroad. The construction of small towns has developed rapidly and has its own characteristics. As early as August 1986, it was designated as the first batch of comprehensive demonstration pilot towns for social development of small towns by 23 ministries and commissions, including the State Science and Technology Commission and the Planning Commission; in 1990, it was named as the first batch of famous towns in Jiangsu Province; in 1992, it was officially named as the national comprehensive experimental area for social development; in 1996, it was named as the first batch of health towns in Jiangsu Province; in 1998, it was named as the new model towns in Jiangsu Province.

In 2007, the construction of Taihu new town in Wuxi City started, and the appearance of Huazhuang street has changed greatly, from the traditional towns in the south of the Yangtze River to the modern emerging urban area. There are many modern communities in the area, and the municipal infrastructure construction is changing with each passing day. In 2018, Wuxi economic development zone was established, and Huazhuang street was managed by Wuxi economic development zone. Huazhuang Street ushered in new development opportunities. Street construction

In 2008, the street completed the demolition tasks of Hynix phase II project and Xingang logistics park on time. In the whole year, 78 enterprises were relocated and 613 villagers' houses were demolished, with a total area of 309000 square meters. In 2007, the street completed the construction of 290000 square meters of residential houses such as IC supporting park with quality and quantity guaranteed, and delivered them for use. The original block of the sub district office will be replaced, and vigorously cooperate with the square project construction. At the same time, on the west side of Wuxi Software Park, land was vacated to build Wuxi Software Park Wangzhuang business center.

With the rapid development of the new city, the demolition and resettlement task of Huazhuang street has increased dramatically. In 2008 alone, more than 610000 square meters of the street were demolished, including more than 1800 residential households with 360000 square meters, 132 non residential households with 250000 square meters, and the construction area of resettlement houses has reached 830000 square meters, exceeding the total demolition and construction of the street in the previous three years.

In June 2002, the former Xin'an town was withdrawn and merged into the New District of Wuxi City. In 2006, Huazhuang town was abolished and Huazhuang street was set up (on January 27, 2007, seven villages of shadungang, Lidong, Xinzhuang, Xinhong, Zhonghua, Hualian, jinghuisi and Xin'an community neighborhood committee were officially set up and Xin'an street was set up, which was managed by Wuxi New District). The work of helping the poor was carried out in a down-to-earth manner. Focusing on the low-income families, we further improved the minimum living security system, raised the standard of subsidies, and provided 1.33 million yuan of support funds throughout the year. We actively carried out charitable fund-raising activities, raised 3 million yuan of charitable funds, and distributed 2.3 million yuan of various kinds of funds for warmth, special care, subsistence allowances and social assistance throughout the year.

We will provide reemployment assistance to older unemployed workers, landless farmers and vulnerable groups. Wangzhuang Street held 11 kinds of training courses throughout the year, training 320 laid-off and unemployed people and more than 2100 unemployed people for career guidance. In 2008, more than 3500 new jobs were created, including more than 680 laid-off workers and landless farmers, and the urban unemployment registration rate was controlled within 1%.
