Wujiaochang town
The name of the old town. See Changhai road street for details. The former Wujiaochang town is located in the north of the central part of Yangpu District, Shanghai. Huangpu River in the East, Jiangwan Airport in the west, inner ring road in the South and Wusong port in the north.
Wujiaochang covers an area of 9.52 square kilometers. The permanent population in the town area is 145 thousand and 600, the registered residence population is 105 thousand and 600, and the registered residence total number is 65 thousand and 200. There are 43 communities. The town government is located at 55 Zhengli road.
Historical evolution
Wujiaochang is famous for the intersection of Songhu, Handan, Siping, Huangxing and Xiangyin roads, which radiate from the central square like five tentacles. The territory is bounded by Qiujiang River, which once belonged to Shanghai county and Baoshan county respectively.
In 1929, it was planned to be the central area of "Greater Shanghai plan".
After 1949, it successively belonged to Xinshi District, JiangWan District, Beijiao district and Baoshan county.
In January 1956, JiangWan District merged the Handan Road office with the central office and renamed it Wujiaochang office.
In 1959, Wujiaochang commune was established and later abolished. In November 1962, Wujiaochang town was formally established.
In 1984, it was transferred to Yangpu District. In September 1984, 15.9 square kilometers of Wujiaochang area was classified as Yangpu District.
In 1985, yinhang street was set up in the area of 8 square kilometers in the north.
In 1991, Wujiaochang town and Wujiaochang Township were abolished, Wujiaochang town was newly built, and 7.47 square kilometers of Wujiaochang street was set up in the southwest.
On April 8, 2019, Shanghai municipal government approved the abolition of Wujiaochang town system and the establishment of Changhai road sub district office. According to the official reply, the jurisdiction area of Changhai road sub district covers all the areas under the jurisdiction of the former Wujiaochang Town, as well as the areas to the north of Guoshun East Road, the east of Shuangyang North Road, the west of the fence of the former Shanghai tractor factory and the former warehouse of Shanghai storage and transportation company, and the south of Anbo road under the jurisdiction of the former Wujiaochang sub district. The new Changhai road sub district office is located at 55 Zhengli Road, where the former Wujiaochang town government is located.

It covers an area of 9.52 square kilometers. It is located in the northeast of the District, facing Huangpu River in the East and Pudong New Area across the river; xinjiangwancheng street and Wujiaochang street in the West; Yinxing street in the north; Changbai new village street, Yanji new village street and Kongjiang Road Street in the south.

Since 1997, Wujiaochang Technology Industrial Park has settled in 50 enterprises with a registered capital of 170 million yuan and an output value of 150 million yuan. In the 1930s, a number of excellent modern historical buildings in Shanghai, such as the old municipal government building, library, museum, airplane building and national music college, were located in the town.

Yejia Garden
Yejia garden is located at 507 Zhengmin Road, beside the original Jiangwan horse racing Hall (now Shanghai first Pulmonary Hospital).
