Chengzi town
Chengzi Town, under the jurisdiction of Chaisang District, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the western suburb of Chaisang District, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, at the West foot of Lushan Mountain, bordering on wharf Town, Ruichang City, and facing Wuxue City, Hubei Province across the Yangtze River. The town covers a total area of 28.7 square kilometers, and has jurisdiction over 6 village committees, 78 villager groups, 2854 households and 13131 people.
Historical evolution
Named after the residence. In 1950, it belonged to huolongpengwan and Baima townships in the port area. In 1958, it belonged to the port commune. In 1962, it was established as Tuanjie commune. In May 1984, it was changed into Tuanjie Township. In November of the same year, it was renamed Chengzi township. In 1993, it was withdrawn from the township to build a town. In 1997, it covers an area of 28.7 square kilometers and has a population of 13000. It governs seven administrative villages, namely Baimahu, longjianghu, Huolong, pengwan, Chengzhen, Chihu and dawuhe. The town government is located in Chengzi Town, 44 kilometers away from the county seat.

Economic overview
Chengzi town is close to Chihu in the South and the Yangtze River in the north. The Yangtze River flows through the town for 14 kilometers, and is close to many railways in Beijing and Jiulong, Wujiu and Changjiu expressways. The water and land transportation is very convenient. It belongs to the monsoon climate zone of the transition from the middle subtropical zone to the north subtropical zone, with mild climate, four distinct seasons, sufficient light, abundant rainfall and long frost free period. History and culture
Chengzi town has a long history. It is said that in the early Ming Dynasty, Chen Ziyi was ordered to settle here to collect money and grain, and then his descendants settled down. Because of the name "Chenzi town", it evolved into Chengzi town. Banzhoucheng site is located in the northwest of the rural area. It is an important garrison site from Wu Dynasty to Southern Dynasty. It was once the administrative center of Runan County and xijiangzhou. It is famous for willow weaving, ceramics and brick and tile firing in history.
