Liaoheyuan Town, subordinate to Dongliao County, Liaoyuan City, Jilin Province, is located in the east of Dongliao county. It borders Daxing Town and Huanghe town of Dongfeng County in the East and south, Weijin town in the southwest, Shoushan town in the West and Anshi town in the north. The area is 401.1 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, 43118 people registered residence.

In November 1945, it belonged to eight districts. In 1953, Liaohe River source management area was set up. In 1958, Liaoheyuan commune was changed. In 1980, Liaoheyuan town was set up, and it was located in Liaoheyuan street. In August 2005, Yanping township was merged into Liaoheyuan town and moved to Yanping street. As of June 2020, Liaoheyuan town has jurisdiction over one community and 38 administrative villages. The people's government is stationed in Yanping street.
