Weizigou town is subordinate to Jiutai District, Changchun City, Jilin Province. In 2001, it was merged by Qingyang Township and Weizigou town. Located 3 kilometers northeast of Jiutai City, it is a large agricultural town in the suburb of Jiutai District, covering an area of 258 square kilometers. It governs 26 villages and one community, with a total population of 28419 people (in 2000). In 2013, the gross national product was 1.352 billion yuan.
History of construction
In the early Qing Dynasty, Dai, a herdsman transferred from Chahar, lived in Sandaogou, where he lived. Later, he settled in chashangao and Tuchengzi. Up to now, Dai still lives in many families. In the Kangxi, Qianlong, Jiaqing and Daoguang dynasties, Haolibao was an entertainment place for Mongolian herdsmen, which was under the jurisdiction of Dongxiang in the late Qing Dynasty.
During the period of the Republic of China, it belonged to the second district. During the period of Puppet Manchuria, it was a village of wealth, while during the period of Kuomintang, it was a village of wealth. At the end of 1947, Zhangwu County was under the jurisdiction of the second district after liberation.
In 1956, it was designated as Weizigou Township, which was named after the lush Reed Growing in shuangxu River Valley. In October 1958, it was under the jurisdiction of dongliujiazi people's commune. In May 1961, it was designated as Weizigou people's commune. In March 1984, it was rebuilt as a Mongolian Township in Weizigou. On March 15, 2012, it was rebuilt into Weizigou town.
