Wuqia town
Wuqia Town, belonging to Yingjisha County, Kashgar Prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is located in the south of Yingjisha county. It is connected with mangxin Township in the East, sugaiti Township and Dongfeng Farm of the third agricultural division of Xinjiang production and Construction Corps in the south, aigus Township and Hongshan Township of aktao County in Kezhou in the west, and Chengguan Township in the north. It is 12 kilometers away from Yingjisha County, with a total area of 213.07 square kilometers.
In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), when Yingjisha was established as a county, Wuqia, aigus and sugeti (except tugeqi and tigan villages) belonged to the same yurixi (equivalent to district); in July 2016, Wuqia township was changed into Wuqia town. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in Wu Qi town was 45057. In 2019, Wuqia town governs 29 administrative villages, and the people's government is stationed in Wuqia village.
Wuqia town's grain crops are mainly wheat and corn, and its industry is mainly brick and stone processing.
History of construction
In the second year of the Republic of China (1913), when Yingjisha was established as a county, Wuqia, aigus, sugeti (except tugeqi, tigan Village) and other places were a yurixi (equivalent to district).
In May 1950, when the township was set up, it belonged to the Fifth District of tieweizi.
In 1953, six townships in tieweizi, including KANGPA, igus, yingqikai, airik, aitimuqiaere, tieweizi and lueyi, were designated as aitimuqiaere District 9. After that, the former tieweizi district was changed to baozihong district.
In August 1958, baozihong commune and aitimuqiaere commune were established; in December of the same year, baozihong commune, sugeti commune, aitimuqiaere commune and igus commune were merged into Wuqia commune.
In December 1961, Wuqia commune was divided into Wuqia commune, sugeti commune and igus commune.
In October 1966, Wuqia commune was renamed Hongqi commune.
In 1978, Hongqi commune was renamed Wuqia commune.
In 1984, Wuqia commune was transformed into Wuqia township.
In July 2016, Wuqia township was changed from township to town.

Wuqia town is located in the south of kalak mountain and the middle upper part of the alluvial fan of Kushan river. It is in the Piedmont inclined plain formed by the alluvial fan group of the two rivers of Kushan River and yigeziyeer river.
