Shuangshan Town, belonging to Shuangliao City, Siping City, Jilin Province, is located in the east of Shuangliao City and the hinterland of Liaohe plain. It borders Xinli Township in the East, Liaohe Reclamation Area and Liutiao Township in Lishu County in the south, Hongqi Street in the west, Yongjia Township and Xinglong Town in the north. The area is 355.08 square kilometers. By the end of 2018, the population of Shuang Shan town registered residence was 28355.
In May 1947, the Fifth District was set up. In March 1956, Shuangshan town (township level) was established. In 1958, Shuangshan commune was changed. In March 1983, it was divided into Shuangshan town and Shuangshan commune. In October 1983, the commune was transformed into a township. In December 1986, Shuangshan township was merged into Shuangshan town. As of June 2020, Shuangshan town has 9 communities and 21 administrative villages.
