Hongshui Town, belonging to Jingtai County, Baiyin City, Gansu Province, is located in the northwest of Jingtai County, at the junction of Jing, Gu and Zuo counties (banners) of Gansu and Mongolia provinces (autonomous regions), adjacent to Alxa Left Banner of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in the East, manshuitan Township in the south, Changling mountain of Qilian Mountains in the West and Zhitan township of Gulang County in the north, with a total administrative area of 320 square kilometers.
In 1991, four mountain townships were established, and in 2001, Hongshui town was established. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population of red water town was 20050. In June 2020, 15 administrative villages will be under the jurisdiction of Hongshui town.
