Shengli community is located in the southeast of Wanjiang District, with a total area of about 0.9 square kilometers. It is adjacent to Batou community in the East, Nancheng Hongyuan in the south, guanqiaojiao community in the west, and East Jiangnan tributary in the north. In August 1990, the former Shengli management area was divided into Shengli, guanqiaojiao and jianshazhou.

General situation

The newly established Shengli management area is composed of two natural villages, Longwan village and Zhaowu village. The land area is 0.9 square kilometers.

Historical anecdotes

Longwan village has been established for more than 200 years. It has a local name of Ma caosha. There is a folk saying that "more sand, less grass, and sheep are hard to find food". The geographical environment is very poor. At the corner of Longwan village, the current is fast, which has a great impact on the sailing ships. In 1958, Dongguan county government opened the Dongjiang River artificially and implemented the "cutting bend and straightening" project, which moved the whole Longwan village to the opposite river, making the tributary of Dongjiang River directly connect to the Pearl River Estuary, so that ships no longer need to bypass the previous bend, reducing the navigation difficulties of ships. Therefore, the left Longwan is like an island, which is called "old Longwan" or "Longwan island" by local villagers. On the first day of the eighth lunar month in 1957, the new Longwan village was completed and the whole village was moved to Longwan new village. Zhao Wu village was founded about 300 years ago. Its original name was yongningji, and its surname was Zhao. It fled from Zhejiang Province to Tangxi in Sanyuanli, Guangzhou, and then to Wangniudun in Dongguan. Later, it chose Xiatang village in Xinhe to live with Li. Because of the small number of people, it was often bullied and finally settled in Zhao Wu village. in the middle of Zhaowu village, there is a ancestral hall of Zhao family, originally named Lecheng ancestral hall. It has been built by Zhao Lecheng for more than 200 years. In 1935, Liu Faru, a bandit from Daojiao, often took the bandits to Zhaowu village to harass and rob. Only 40 cattle in the village were robbed, leaving only 2 calves. All the property was looted. In 1936, the 45th division of the Kuomintang also often harassed Zhaowu village. One of them was to capture the "old model" (Dongguan Anti Japanese model group), which was a big ransacking of Zhaowu village. On September 29, 1937, the Japanese army robbed Zhaowu village, and all the property was robbed. After three times of looting, Zhaowu village has become a poor village with nothing. There are frequent floods, twice in three years, and crops do not have a good harvest. Many villagers starve, die and drown. Before 1950, there were 4 bridges in Shengli Village: 3 wooden bridges and 1 Mashi bridge; in 2003, there were 6 concrete bridges, and the villagers mainly planted jute and rice. Shengli village is located in the southeast of Wanjiang river. To the north is Dongjiang waterway, which has convenient water and land transportation, attracting many businesses to invest here. In 1993, the first private enterprise Yanggang food factory settled in Zhaowu village, and the economy of Zhaowu village has been further developed. As of 2007, there are 13 private enterprises in Shengli community, such as Bazhen food factory and Lianxing food factory. In 1997, Xinke magnetic power plant was built next to Zhaowu village, which brought a lot of business opportunities to Zhaowu village. Then, private enterprises such as Hualian food factory, Taoyuanju activity center, Xingda paper factory, Fucheng paper factory, Wanfeng Lamao factory and so on invested in Zhaowu village one after another. By 2002, there were six enterprises in Zhaowu village.
