Haishan Township

Haishan Township, located in Yueqing Bay in the northwest of Yuhuan City, Zhejiang Province, is close to the sea on all sides. It faces Chumen Peninsula in the East, Yucheng street and Lupu town in Yuhuan island in the south, Yueqing City in the West and Wenling City in the north across the sea. Historical evolution

In the Qing Dynasty, it belonged to 22 capitals; in the period of the Republic of China, it belonged to the first to the fourteenth guarantees; in the early days of liberation, it was called Haishan township; in 1958, it abolished the township system and established the Haishan administrative area, which belonged to the Chumen people's commune (Grand commune); in 1961, it established the Haishan people's commune; in 1984, when the government and commune were set up separately, it set up Haishan township.

Development status

The aquaculture industry of the township has begun to take shape, with a horizontal bed of ten thousand mu mud clam breeding base. There are eight characteristic breeding bases, including Daqing 1000 mu algae base, Maolong 100 mu shrimp pond base and anti wave cage breeding base. Rich in seaweed, oysters, clams, shrimp, green crab and other aquatic products. It was built in the maritime guerrilla base of Yueqing Bay in Qingdao, and has been named as the city's patriotic education base. Haishan tidal power station, built in 1975, is the earliest one-way full tidal energy storage power station with double reservoirs in China. With the unique scenery of "the ebb tide is the mouth and the rise tide is the sea", it is very suitable to develop popular science, revolutionary traditional education, fishing area customs, agricultural leisure and other tourism projects. In the near future, a real "sea garden" is expected to rise in the middle of Yueqing Bay.
