Welfare town (welfare Village) is the seat of Jixian County Government of Shuangyashan City. It is located in the northeast of Heilongjiang Province, with Wanda foothills in the South and Sanjiang fertile fields in the north. It is located in the hinterland of Sanjiang Plain. China is an important economic commodity grain crop area. Welfare town is the hometown of soybean in China. It is the political, economic and cultural exchange center of the whole county. In 2001, the former welfare Town, Shagang Township and Shanshan Township were merged and established.

It is only 40 kilometers away from Jiamusi eastern suburb airport where large passenger planes can take off and land. It is adjacent to Jiamusi, Tongjiang, Fujin, Raohe and other trade ports with Russia. It is an important commodity distribution center and transportation hub in Sanjiang plain. It is only 7.5 kilometers away from Shuangyashan City and an important gateway to Shuangyashan City. It is an important transportation hub in the same section of Tongsan expressway.

History and culture

Welfare town (welfare Village) in Jixian County has a long history. As early as the Shang and Zhou dynasties, Sushen, the former leader of the Tungusic Manchu, flourished here. The county was established in 1946 and put under the jurisdiction of Shuangyashan City in 1988. It is a major grain producing county in China and an important commodity grain base in Heilongjiang Province. It is known as "the hometown of soybean oil soaking in China". Welfare town (welfare Village) is also one of the important birthplaces of Manchu history and culture, with rich cultural heritage and human resources. The Guntuling cultural relic site in Zhennan is a national key cultural relic protection unit. It is one of the most typical sites in the Sanjiang Plain from Han Dynasty to the northern and Southern Dynasties. Its outstanding characteristics have established its representative position in the Sanjiang Plain and even in the Heilongjiang River Basin archaeological culture. The Great Bodhi temple in Longshan, 7.5km southwest of the town, is a famous Buddhist holy land with magnificent momentum and numerous pilgrims. Tourists from Southeast Asian countries such as Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and Singapore often come to visit. The qixingfeng Forest Park in the west of the town is the largest provincial forest park in the east of Sanjiang Plain with beautiful scenery and peculiar landform. There are anti Japanese "Miying" ruins and anti Japanese martyrs' sacrifice memorial site in the park. Every year, tourists come to pay homage to it. Anbanghe Wetland Nature Reserve is one of the most complete, representative and typical original wetlands in Sanjiang Plain. There are 403 species of wild vascular plants and 18 species of national first and second grade animals. It is an important gene pool of biological resources and has been identified as "AAA" national tourism area.
