Baoshan Township, subordinate to Wan'an County, Ji'an City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the southeast of Wan'an County, bordering juncun township of Xingguo County in the East, Jiantian Township and Wushu Township in the southwest, Jiantou town in the northwest and shuicha township of Taihe County in the north. Baoshan Township, covering an area of 140.18 square kilometers, governs 8 administrative villages, 1 community and 78 village groups in Longshang, Shuinan, huangtang, Shiyan, Baoshan, Shilong, Anchang and Dongping. In late 2018, the registered residence population of Baoshan Township was 12 thousand and 700.
By the end of 2018, Baoshan Township had 13 industrial enterprises and 5 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
Historical evolution
Baoshan, formerly known as huangtang, was named after the yellow water behind the mountain. Before liberation, it belonged to huangtang Township, a civilized area (also known as the second area).
In 1950, it set up huangtang, Shiyan and zhuangxia villages; in 1951, it set up zhuangxia, Shilong, gaoqiu and Shuikou villages; in March 1956, it changed to Baoshan; in 1958, Baoshan people's commune was composed of zhuangxia, Shilong, gaoqiu and Shuikou senior agricultural cooperatives; in 1968, Baoshan people's commune was merged into Wushu commune; in 1972, it was separated from Wushu commune and still Baoshan commune.
In March 1984, the government and society were separated and Baoshan Township was restored.

After the merger of administrative villages in 2003, it has jurisdiction over 8 administrative villages and 81 villager groups in Longshang, Shuinan, huangtang, Shiyan, Baoshan, Shilong, Anchang and Dongping.

The main scenic spots in Baoshan Township are Tianhu mountain and Shiyan cave. Tianhu mountain belongs to Wuyi Mountain. The main peak, named pingdingguang, is 1152.9 meters above sea level. It is located in Baoshan Township, east-west trend. In Jiantou Town, it is north-south trend, the highest peak in Wan'an county. It borders Taihe County in the northeast and Xingguo County in the southeast. There is a small basin on the east slope of pingdingguang. The Guanyin Temple of Tianhu mountain was built in the Qing Dynasty. It was burned in 1932 and rebuilt in 1986. Shiyan cave is located in Shizishan, Xiefang village. There are more than 10 karst caves in the cave. It is a county-level cultural relic protection unit.
