Daxing Town

Daxing Town, located in the southwest of Yongshan County, Yunnan Province, is the old town of Zeng Zesheng, commander of the 60th Yunnan army. Town resident new street, 155 km away from the county. It is located in the east of wulianfeng mountain system, on the South Bank of Jinsha River, connected with Maolin in the East, adjacent to Wanhe, Wuzhai and Makou in the southeast, and facing Jinyang County of Sichuan Province across Jinsha River in the northwest.

Historical evolution

Daxing was formerly known as dajingba. Before the Ming Dynasty and the early Qing Dynasty, there were seven salt wells in the old street. Later, the local people reported to the Xuzhou government for the so-called "digging a well in the South and killing people in the north". The official ruled that the salt well should be sealed and changed into a field. Because it is located in Pingba, it is called dajingba. In the early Qing Dynasty, the trade of dajingba was booming, which was named "Daxing". It was under the jurisdiction of Yongshan County since it was established in 1728. From 1922 to 1950, town and district system was established. It was named the ninth district in 1951 and changed to Daxing people's commune in 1958. In 1960, it was renamed Daxing District, in 1969 it was renamed commune, in 1984 it was renamed District, and in May 1988 it was abandoned and changed into town. The total area is 146 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 8 villagers' committees and 187 villagers' groups in Daxing, Luji, Liyuan, luoqiu, Hetao, Mapo, Jinsha and Hekou, with a population of 8716 households and 34892 people. And the descendants of Wang Anshi also lived here. As of 2017, there were 31398 permanent residents.

Geographical resources

The territory is long and narrow, with continuous mountains in the East and south, mild climate, gentle slope and small dam along the river, hot in summer and dry in winter, belonging to the river valley and the second half mountain area. The highest altitude of yemaliangzi is 2820 meters. The mountain range is cut by banchanggou, jinshajiaohe, Sanchagou and yimagou, forming a small dam like a carp. Due to the large amount of mining lead-zinc and silver mines and loose geological structure in history, debris flow and landslide are serious. the main food crops in the town are rice, corn, wheat, sweet potato, beans, peanuts, etc. The main economic trees are Tongjian, Zanthoxylum bungeanum, walnut and citrus, and a small amount of wood lacquer and pine fir. Sugarcane is a specialty. Underground lead-zinc deposits are rich.
