Shangzhi Township, which belongs to Chaoyang County, Chaoyang City, Liaoning, is located in the south of Chaoyang County, East and adjacent to Wang yingzi Township, and is connected to six family towns in the south. The west is connected to the Hei yingzi Township, with a total area of 57.98 square kilometers. Up to 2018, the registered residence population was 11288.

Famous people
Zhao Shangzhi
General Zhao Shangzhi (1908-1942), a national hero of the Anti Japanese War, was born in lamagou village of wanglungou township (now Shangzhi township), Chaoyang County, and a famous general of the Anti Japanese Federation. He entered Huangpu Military Academy in 1925. He has served successively as member of the Standing Committee of the Jilin provincial Party department and youth Minister of the Kuomintang, Secretary of the Military Commission of the Manchuria Provincial Party committee of the Communist Party of China, chief of staff of sun Chaoyang Department of the Anti Japanese volunteer army, captain of the Zhuhe Anti Japanese guerrillas, Commander in chief of the Hadong Anti Japanese coalition, commander of the Hadong branch of the Northeast Anti Japanese guerrillas, and commander of the third army of the Northeast Anti Japanese coalition. On February 12, 1942, he was wounded and captured in the battle, and died heroically. Comrade Mao Zedong praised General Zhao Shangzhi and other anti Japanese Union generals as "famous leaders of the volunteer army", and their "resolute Anti Japanese and hard struggle achievements are well known." At the meeting commemorating the 60th anniversary of the victory of the Anti Japanese War, Comrade Hu Jintao praised eight Anti Japanese generals, including Zhao Shangzhi, as "outstanding representatives of the Chinese people who are not afraid of violence and fight bravely."
