Tangchi town is located in the middle of Jianghan Plain, adjacent to Yangling town in Yingcheng City in the East, Caowu town in Jingshan County in the west, Zaoshi town in Tianmen City in the south, and 21 kilometers away from the central urban area of Yingcheng City. The town governs 18 Village (street) committees, 115 villager groups and 13522 people (in 2017). The land area is 50.3 square kilometers (in 2017), and the cultivated land area is 32000 mu.

In July 2020, the National Patriotic Health Association decided to name Tangchi town as a national health Township in the period of 2017-2019.

Historical evolution

Tangchi hot spring was called "Dongkeng spring" in ancient times, and Tangchi town got its name because of the hot spring. This spring has a long history and rich cultural connotation. In 164 BC, when Emperor Wen of Han Dynasty began to build Lujiang state, it was said that "kengquan" was divided into East and West. During the reign of emperor Shenzong of Song Dynasty, Wang Anshi was demoted to Shuzhou. From Xiaogan City to Yunmeng County via national highway 316, then to Yingcheng by county highway, and then to Tangchi hot spring by following Batang line in Yingcheng.
