Tuanjie street is located in the western suburb of Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province. It covers an area of 424.39 square kilometers and has a population of 31737 (2010). It has jurisdiction over 16 administrative villages including Heping, Longtan, Daxing, Baimei, Qitai, Tuoji, Yuhua, Huahongyuan, Yongjing, xiachong, duomu, Gulu, Tuopai, Luze, lemu and Caijia. The office is located in Longtan street, 17 kilometers away from Kunming city. Hun (Shuitang) Gu (Lu), Kun (Ming) Fu (min), long (tan) MA (ShuiHe) highway transit. Yongsheng River, Yongjing River, Qingming River, xiachong River and Qitai River belong to Jinsha River system. Quartz sand, rich in reserves.

Before Ming Dynasty and middle Qing Dynasty, it was part of shibili and gaopinli in Kunming county. In the late Qing Dynasty, it was under the jurisdiction of duoyibao, qingmingbao, yongjingbao and lemubao. During the Republic of China, it was a part of Yuan Township. In 1950, it was the Fifth District of Kunming county. In 1954, it belonged to the Ninth District of Kunming city. In 1956, it belonged to Xishan District. Founded in 1958, the commune was named Tuanjie commune because of the concentration of ethnic minorities. It has jurisdiction over five administrative areas. At the end of 1961, it was divided into 10 groups. Gulu commune was established in 1962. In 1984, it was changed into Tuanjie office and Gulu office. In 1988, it was changed into Tuanjie Yi Bai Township and Gulu Yi Bai township. In 1997, Tuanjie Yi Bai Township covers an area of 254.7 square kilometers and has a population of 18000, with 10 administrative villages of Heping, Longtan, Yuhua, Huahongyuan, Tuoji, Qitai, Yongjing, xiachong, Daxing and Baimei; Gulu Yi Bai Township covers an area of 191.6 square kilometers and has a population of 8000, with 6 administrative villages of Gulu, duomu, Tuopai, Luze, lemu and Caijia. Around 2000, Tuanjie Yi Bai Township, covering an area of 254.8 square kilometers, has jurisdiction over 10 administrative villages, 63 villager groups, 83 natural villages, with a population of 21300, of which 71.2% are ethnic minorities; Gulu Yi Bai Township, covering an area of 171 square kilometers, has jurisdiction over 6 administrative villages, 57 villager groups, with a population of 8500, of which 4800 are Yi and 12000 are Bai. In 2006, Tuanjie Yi Bai Township and Gulu Yi Bai Township were abolished and Tuanjie town was established. The town government is located in Longtan street. In July 2009, the town was removed and the streets were set up.
