Jichang town
Jichang Town, formerly known as Chengguan Town, is located in the center of Jixian County, adjacent to Wencheng town in the north, Dongcheng Town in the west, Checheng town in the East, Baishansi town in the South and Zhongduo town in the south. It is the political, economic and cultural center of Jixian County.

In 2001, the township was withdrawn and the town was renamed Jichang Town, which is the seat of the county and the political, economic and cultural center of the county. It is 20.8 km long from east to west and 17.5 km wide from north to south, with a total area of 144.88 square kilometers. It originally governs 19 village committees, which were merged into 14 village committees in 2002. In March 2004, six community residents committees were set up with the approval of the county government. In 2007, there were 10402 households with a population of 34977. There are 14002 urban residents. Jichang town government has a total of 42 cadres and administrative personnel, set up offices, finance station, forestry station, economic management station, agricultural technology station, civil affairs station, Youth League Committee, women's Federation, cultural station and other departments. The township organs include Jichang health center, Chengguan Credit Union, Jichang joint school, Jichang grain station, etc.
Historical evolution
In 1917, the county was divided into three districts. Now Jichang town is under the jurisdiction of one district. The government of one district is located in Dongguan village. It has jurisdiction over 18 villages, including Dongguan, Baicun, shangyangzhuang, Xiguan, Shangdong, Lancun, sanhou, Baie, Nanping, Xiexi, Anping, dongshiquan, Xingqu, ditian, Nanyao, baiziyuan, Majiahe and Sanjiao. It is the predecessor of Chengguan town.
In October 1947, the county was liberated, and the county was divided into five districts. Now most villages in Jichang town are under the jurisdiction of the people's Government of the first district. The government is located in Dongguan village, and has jurisdiction over 10 villages, including Dongguan, Xiguan, Linyu, shedi, gounan, Zhencun, Shantou, Lan village, Xiaofu and Baicun.
In 1954, the district system was abolished and the county was divided into 28 townships (towns). Now Jichang town is basically divided into Chengguan Town, zushimiao Town, Linyu town and Lancun town.
On October 1, 1968, the township system was abolished and renamed as the people's commune. Among them, Chengguan people's commune includes the villages of today's Chengguan, Checheng, Dongcheng and other townships. In November of the same year, Ji county and Xiangning County merged into Xiangning County, and the former Chengguan people's commune of Ji county was called Jizhen people's commune.
On July 1, 1961, the organizational system of Jixian County was restored in Xiangji county. Jizhen people's commune was divided into Chengguan, Caojing and Dongcheng communes.
At the end of 1983, Chengguan people's commune was established, with 19 production teams and 102 production teams under its jurisdiction: Majiahe, Dongguan, Xiguan, Qiaonan, zushimiao, Xiaofu, Linyu, Shangdong village, Lancun, sujiaping, datianwo, Shanyang, Xiexi, Xincun, zhunzihe, bofantou, liangmanchi, languzhuang, Xuehou.

In February 2002, the village was removed and formed into 14 village committees: Majiahe, Dongguan, Xiguan, Qiaonan, zushimiao, Xiaofu, Linyu, Shangdong village, Lancun, datianwo, Shanyang, Xiexi, languzhuang, XueBei.
In March 2004, six community neighborhood committees were established, namely, Dongguan community, Xiguan community, Qiaonan community, xuehuibei community, Xiaofu community and zushimiao community.

On October 1, 1958, Chengguan commune was founded. In the same year, Chengguan commune set up a machinery factory and built a 10 kW power plant, which was the first power generation plant in the county.
On August 27, 1959, wursus-45 tractor was introduced into Jizhen commune for the first time.
In June 1969, the cable broadcasting station of Chengguan commune was established.
In January 1973, the state invested 540000 yuan to mobilize 500 migrant workers from Chengguan commune to build the lananguo reservoir.
In February 1980, Qiaonan brigade of Chengguan commune established an enterprise, which was rated as "commune enterprise" advanced unit by the provincial government.
In September 1983, "Guqiao" vinegar produced by Qiaonan brigade vinegar factory of Chengguan commune was rated as "high quality product of provincial commune enterprise".
In September 1985, zushimiao village "rural fund cooperative" (that is, the nature of village run credit cooperatives) opened. On December 24 of the same year, Shanxi Daily reported the news.
On May 9, 2005, a large area of mountain collapsed in Shuidonggou, Qiaonan village, Jichang Town, burying 12 households and killing 24 people.

Renzu mountain: located 20 kilometers north of the county, the watershed is northeast. The top of the main peak is 1820.5 meters above sea level, 6.6 kilometers long from north to South and 3.5 kilometers wide from east to west, with a total area of 23.1 square kilometers. The mountain is one of the ancient forest areas, except for many wild animals, It is rich in acorn seed, Forsythia suspensa, peach, apricot, seabuckthorn, Hemerocallis fulva, agaric, mushroom and monkey head. Paoshan: located 15 kilometers northeast of the county, it is a branch of renzu mountain. The watershed is north-south. The main peak is 1449.7 meters above sea level, 6.25 kilometers long from north to south, 2.15 kilometers wide from east to west, with a total area of 13.44 square kilometers.

Kunrou Notre Dame Temple
Kunrou Notre Dame temple, located on the earth wall of Xiexi village, 8 km northeast of Jichang Town, Jixian County, Shanxi Province, was first built in the first year of Tiansheng of Song Dynasty (1023), rebuilt in the seventh year of Yanyou of Yuan Dynasty (1320), and partially rebuilt in the fourth year of Longqing of Ming Dynasty (1570). The existing kunrou Notre Dame temple is a legacy of Yuan Dynasty.
There are three rooms in width and three rooms in depth, with single eaves. In the hall, four gold pillars were moved to the second room. The capitals were replaced by big sparrows, and the beams were divided into two layers, the upper and the lower, forming a well shaped beam frame. The lower layer is equipped with angle beam, the upper layer is equipped with railing and pubaifang, the front and rear eaves and two hills are supported by climbing beams, and the center is carried by a bucket arch carrying a lotus column, forming a sparse caisson, which is rarely seen in ancient Chinese architecture.
