Historical evolution

Wulin town derives its name from wulinji. Wulinji is named after wulinjiang Shiji. Huangpeng town and huangpeng, Wulin and Hufan townships were established in 1951. They were changed into people's commune in 1961. Huangpeng town and Hufan Township were restored in 1984. Wulin town was established in 1987. Yuanshi Dock Street was the first district when Honghu county was built in 1951. In 1956, it was set up as Shi dock district. In 1975, it was set up as Shi dock commune.
