Longxi town

Longxi Town, under the jurisdiction of Linchuan District, Fuzhou City, Jiangxi Province, is located in the southwest border of Linchuan District, adjacent to Hebu Township and Rongshan town in the East, Xufang Township and Hangbu town in Chongren County in the west, Lixi town and taopi town in Yihuang County in the south, Hangbu town in Chongren county and Qiuxi town in Linchuan District in the north. With an area of 106 square kilometers, it governs one community, 12 administrative villages and 114 villager groups. In late 2018, there were 22 thousand registered residence population in Longxi town.

History of construction

In August 1951, Longxi town and six townships including Lianxi, waifan, Meixi, An'an, Boxi and Qiyuan were organized; in the spring of 1955, Lianxi and waifan were merged into Longxi town; in the spring of 1961, Longxi people's commune was established, which was divided into Longxi Town, Meixi town and Boxi town In the winter of 1968, Longxi and Meixi communes merged into Longxi commune; in 1984, Longxi commune was changed into Longxi township; in June 1985, Longxi township was changed into Longxi town.
