Weijiaqiao town

Wei Jia Qiao Town, a city of Shenzhou, Hengshui, Hebei, is located in the south of Shenzhou City, east facing the dyke Town, adjacent to the south of the ancient town, and Wangjia Town, West, and adjacent to Dongan Zhuang, with an area of 77.82 square kilometers. Up to 2018, the registered residence population was 29385.

In 1948, it belonged to 13 districts of Shen county. In 1949, it belonged to seven districts. In 1958, Yuejin commune was established by withdrawing the township; in the same year, it was renamed as Dongwei Jiaqiao commune. In 1984, it was changed to Jiaqiao Township in Dongwei. In 1996, baisongzhuang township was incorporated. In February 1998, Weijiaqiao township was changed into a town. As of June 2020, Weijiaqiao town has 27 administrative villages.

In 2018, there were 19 industrial enterprises in Weijiaqiao Town, including 4 Enterprises above Designated Size and 31 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.

Historical evolution

In 1948, it belonged to 13 districts of Shen county.

In 1949, it belonged to seven districts.

In 1953, it was the residence of seven districts, including Jiaqiao Township, Mengjia Village Township, Jiaojia Village Township and helanjing Township in the Western Wei Dynasty.

In 1956, the district was withdrawn, and the three townships of Western Wei Jiaqiao, Mengjia village and Jiaojia village were merged into Eastern Wei Jiaqiao Township, and helanjing township was merged into qinghuitou township.

In 1958, Yuejin commune was established by withdrawing the township; in the same year, it was renamed as Dongwei Jiaqiao commune.

In 1984, it was changed to Jiaqiao Township in Dongwei.

In 1996, baisongzhuang township was incorporated.

In February 1998, Weijiaqiao township was changed into a town.

History and culture

Weijiaqiao in the East and Weijiaqiao in the middle and West used to be a village. It was originally named Weijiaqiao. It was built in Song Dynasty and got its name from Weijiaqiao on Yaer River in the north of the village.
