Gaolou

Gaolou Town, also known as "Sangang" and "Fenglou", is a town under the jurisdiction of Rui'an City in Zhejiang Province. It is located in the western mountainous area of Rui'an. It is composed of seven villages and towns, including Longhu, pingyangkeng, Gaolou, Yingqian, Ningyi, Dongyan and Fengling. It is located in the western mountainous area of Rui'an, on both sides of the middle reaches of Feiyun River, and at the intersection of Rui'an, Wencheng, Pingyang and Qingtian.

Gaolou town is an ecological town in Zhejiang Province, with tourism as the pillar industry. In 2014, Gaolou town achieved a GDP of 1.735 billion yuan, a total fiscal revenue of 134.6 million yuan, and a disposable income of 14143 yuan for urban and rural residents.

Gaolou town governs 38 administrative villages (in 2019), with a total population of 36541 (in 2017), covering an area of 249.93 square kilometers (in 2017).

Historical evolution

As early as four or five thousand years ago in the Neolithic age, the ancestors of the three ports lived and multiplied here. In 239, Ruian county was established. Since then, high-rise land has been subordinate to Ruian county (city). during the period of Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms (907-960), the princes and nobles of the state of Fujian neighboring Ruian fought against each other for power and profit, and the common people migrated to Wenzhou and Ruian. It was at this time that most of the people with surnames of Gaolou moved from Fujian. In the early years of the Northern Song Dynasty, the imperial court set up Jiayu Township in the western part of Ruian (equivalent to the vast area of today's DACAO in the West and Mayu in the East), under the jurisdiction of high-rise buildings such as Li and Bao. Lin'an (Hangzhou), the capital of the Southern Song Dynasty, developed rapidly and became an important quay and trade center along the Feiyun River. In the early years of the Yuan Dynasty, the inspection department of three ports was set up.. In Ming and Qing Dynasties, this large area of land belonged to Guanghua township (47 capitals) and Jiayu township (48 and 49 capitals). In 1928, the government set up the Southern District (renamed the Fourth District in 1931) in the original Jiayu township. The district office was set up in high-rise buildings (in front of Yingqian from 1934 to 1938), and it has jurisdiction over more than 20 townships such as Jianggao, Jiangle and Jianglong. At the beginning of 1946, the administrative divisions of Ruian county were merged, and 92 townships were merged into 48 townships. Among them, Gaolou District governs Wenhua (now pingyangkeng), YingYuan Township, Gaolou Township and Fengyu township. In May 1949, the Preparatory Committee of Gaolou District People's government was established (later, the District People's government was formally established in August of that year, and it was changed into the District Office in August 1950). It has jurisdiction over Fengyu, Gaojing and other eight townships (Fengling township was added in 1950). In June 1992, Longhu, pingyangkeng, Gaolou, Yingqian, Ningyi, Dongyan and Fengling townships were set up. In May 2011, Longhu Town, pingyangkeng Town, Gaolou Township, Ningyi Township, Fengling Township, Yingqian Township and Dongyan Township were abolished and Gaolou town was merged. In 2018, the town of Gao Lou has 118 administrative villages and 2 professional cooperation centers, including 96 villages with 1000 registered residence. in March 2019, Gaolou town will retain 2 ethnic villages and 2 large-scale villages, and 34 new villages will be built in the town, reducing the number of villages by 80, with a reduction rate of 68.33%.

Gaolou Village

five village committees in Gaolou Town, including Gaoyi village, Gaoer village, Gaosan village, canchang village and Shangcun village, were abolished. Merge the areas under their jurisdiction and set up high-rise villager committees. There are 1527 households in the new village, with a total population of 5359, an administrative area of 6.56 square kilometers, and 184 formal party members.

Dajing Village

abolish the four village committees of Dajing village, dajinglong village, Dajingshan village and dajingdi village in Gaolou town. The area under its jurisdiction will be merged and Dajing village committee will be established. There are 803 households in the new village, with a total population of 2980, an administrative area of 4.18 square kilometers and 89 formal party members.

Jianglong Village

Three village committees in Gaolou Town, including Xianglong village, Zhanglong village and shehou village, were abolished. The area under its jurisdiction will be merged and the Jianglong village committee will be established. There are 596 households in the new village, with a total population of 2321, an administrative area of 3.1 square kilometers and 53 formal party members.

Dongxing Village

the two villagers' committees of Dongsheng Village and ruanshan village in Gaolou town were abolished. The area under its jurisdiction will be merged and Dongxing village committee will be established. There are 338 households in the new village, with a total population of 1229, an administrative area of 3.99 square kilometers, and 37 formal party members.

Luolong Village

abolish the three village committees of Luoxi village, HENGJIA village and Shalong village in Gaolou town. The area under its jurisdiction will be merged and Luolong village committee will be established. There are 556 households in the new village, with a total population of 2063, an administrative area of 4.15 square kilometers, and 52 formal party members.

Dongze Village

abolish the two village committees of Gaolou Town, including Dongcun village and shangze village. The area under its jurisdiction will be merged and Dongze village committee will be established. The new village has 463 households, a total population of 1767, an administrative area of 3.83 square kilometers, and 51 formal party members.

Yuxi Village

the two village committees of xiaze village and Xikou village in Gaolou town were abolished. The area under its jurisdiction will be merged and the Yuxi village committee will be established. There are 644 households in the new village, with a total population of 2473, an administrative area of 3.04 square kilometers, and 63 formal party members.

Fengqi Village

abolish the two village committees in Dahua Village and shangmaqian village of Gaolou town. Fengqi village committee will be established by merging its jurisdiction. There are 485 households in the new village, with a total population of 1733, an administrative area of 3.07 square kilometers, and 70 formal party members.

Fengxiang Village

six village committees in Gaolou Town, including Shizhai village, wujieshan village, Xiajiao village, pengzhai village, kengdijiao village and Maqian village, were abolished. Fengxiang village committee will be established by merging its jurisdiction. There are 702 households in the new village, with a total population of 2447, an administrative area of 3.75 square kilometers, and 110 formal party members.

Gexi Village

five village committees in Gaolou Town, including Jiangbian village, Lingjiao village, gexi village, Longtan Village and linzhai village, were abolished. The area under its jurisdiction will be merged and the gexi village committee will be established. There are 889 households in the new village, with a total population of 3196, an administrative area of 9.13 square kilometers and 165 formal party members.

Meishui Village

abolish the two village committees of Meishan village and shuiduikeng village in Gaolou town. The area under its jurisdiction will be merged and the Meishui village committee will be established. There are 313 households in the new village, with a total population of 1228, an administrative area of 7.68 square kilometers, and 33 formal party members.

Lianzhong Village

four village committees in Baiye village, shoutaojian village, Daxu village and Zhongxin village of Gaolou town were abolished. The area under its jurisdiction will be merged and the Lianzhong village committee will be established. There are 588 households in the new village, with a total population of 2609, an administrative area of 12.19 square kilometers, and 69 formal party members.

Dongyang Village

abolish four village committees in Gaolou Town, including Dulong village, Dongkeng village, Xieshan village and chenhetian village. The area under its jurisdiction will be merged and Dongyang village committee will be established. The new village has 526 households, a total population of 1993, an administrative area of 7.85 square kilometers, and 78 formal party members.

Shengma Village

three villagers' committees in Zhaixia village, Shima village and meishuling village of Gaolou town were abolished. Merge its jurisdiction and set up Shengma village committee. There are 509 households in the new village, with a total population of 1891, an administrative area of 4.9 square kilometers, and 80 formal party members.

Jinyang Village

abolish the three villagers' committees of Jinlong Village, Yantou village and yantoushan village in Gaolou town. The area under its jurisdiction will be merged and the Jinyang villagers' committee will be established. There are 402 households in the new village, with a total population of 1479, an administrative area of 6.05 square kilometers, and 37 formal party members.

Huayan Village

abolish the four village committees of shuangkeng village, xufa village, Xulong village and hongtoujin village in Gaolou town. The area under its jurisdiction will be merged and the Huayan village committee will be set up. There are 807 households in the new village, with a total population of 2929, an administrative area of 10.83 square kilometers, and 75 formal party members.

Ningyi Village

abolish the two villagers' committees in Duntou village and xiajulong village of Gaolou town. The area under its jurisdiction will be merged and Ningyi village committee will be established. There are 620 households in the new village, with a total population of 2519, an administrative area of 10.83 square kilometers, and 75 formal party members.

Ning'an Village

five village committees in Gaolou Town, including Damei village, Nanyi village, Naner village, Huangshan Village and magangjiao village, were abolished. The area under its jurisdiction will be merged and the Ning'an village committee will be established. The new village has 867 households with a total population of 3252, an administrative area of 19.95 square kilometers and 102 formal party members.

Fengqiao Village

abolish the three village committees of dazang village, Donglong village and Longtou village in Gaolou town. The area under its jurisdiction will be merged and Fengqiao village committee will be established. There are 677 households in the new village, with a total population of 2545, an administrative area of 11.63 square kilometers, and 67 formal party members.

Xiqiao Village

abolish the three village committees of Xilong village, dazhukeng village and Longtou village in Gaolou town. They will merge the areas under their jurisdiction and set up the Xiqiao village committee. The new village has 435 households, a total population of 1695, an administrative area of 5.98 square kilometers, and 53 formal party members.
