Kedong Town, subordinate to Kedong County, Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province, is located in the east of Kedong County, bordering Yugang town in the East, Runjin Township in the south, Keshan town in the West and Baoquan town in the north, with a total administrative area of 66.67 square kilometers.
Kedong town was formerly known as erkeshan town; in 1915, the government office of Keshan Administration Bureau was set up in this town; in 1955, it was changed to Kedong town. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in Ke Dong town was 54095. In 2019, Kedong town governs 4 communities and 5 administrative villages, and the people's government is stationed at 416 Xinyuan road.
The main food crops in Kedong town are soybean, corn and potato, and the main animal husbandry is dairy cattle, yellow cattle, live pigs, sheep and poultry. In 2018, there were 68 industrial enterprises in Kedong Town, including 12 above scale enterprises and 65 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
History of construction
At the end of the Qing Dynasty, when the wasteland was opened up for reclamation, immigrants began to move in, and merchants were trading more and more.
In the fourth year of the Republic of China (March 1915), Keshan set up the Administration Bureau in erkeshan, demarcated the street foundation and built the Earth City; in September of the same year, after the Keshan County Department moved to the third station, it was called erkeshan Town, which was under the jurisdiction of the second district. In 1929, erkeshan town set up Kedong Administrative Bureau. In 1933, the Bureau was changed to a county, and erkeshan town was initially the Zhongbao of Kedong County. In 1939, Kedong street was rebuilt.
In 1945, it was renamed Chengguan District as the residence of the county government.
In 1955, it was changed into Kedong town.
In September 1958, it was renamed Kedong Town People's commune.
In 1980, the name of Kedong town was restored.
In 2004, Wanfa village, Mingshan village, Chengdong village and Guangming Village were included in Kedong town.

The original name of Kedong town was erkeshan Town, which was named after the mountain; later it was renamed because its jurisdiction was located in the east of Keshan County.

There is erkeshan Park 1.5km northeast of Kedong Town, in which there is erkeshan, the only xihuoshan in Songnen Plain. The main peak of Erke mountain is 427.8 meters above sea level, with a relative height of 142.7 meters.
