In order to speed up the process of urbanization, with the approval of the people's Government of Anhui Province, Xuanzhou District cancelled the establishment of Xiangyang sub district office in Xiangyang Town, and held the unveiling ceremony on June 26, 2014. It is understood that the administrative region of Xiangyang sub district office is the original administrative region of Xiangyang Town, with the same area and population, and is the agency of the district government. Xiangyang Street (formerly Xiangyang town) is located in the eastern suburb of Xuancheng City, 1.5km away from the urban area.
