history
Qingshui is located on the west coast of Taichung city. The local prehistoric culture is about 3500-4000 years ago. It belongs to the Neolithic niumutou culture. Before a large number of Han people moved into Qingshui, it was originally the settlement of gomach community of the paipula nationality. Now the Xishe community of Qingshui, formerly known as "Shekou", is the entrance and exit of the paipula nationality at that time. It is also the old place name of Qingshui

From the transliteration of gomach. During the reign of Emperor Kangxi, Qingshui was still an undeveloped and barren land. During the reign of Emperor Yongzheng, a large number of Han people poured into Qingshui area and rented land to the Pingpu People for cultivation, and some officers and soldiers stationed in today's yingpanxiang. During the reign of Emperor Qianlong, it gradually developed into a market and a distribution center for rice and mountain products in Central China. The early Han immigrants in Qingshui mainly came from Fujian and Guangdong. The Sanshan king temple on Qingshui street has traces of the early Hakkas' colonization of Qingshui. In the 25th year of the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, it was opened up that the well-off people could cross Taiwan with their families for cultivation. Most of them were Yang and Cai from Quanzhou. Yang and Cai settled down in the community and cultivated a large number of land. Since then, the two families have proliferated. To this day, Yang and CAI are still the two major surnames of Qingshui. In 1684, the Qing government adopted Shi Lang's suggestion and began to set up an official office in Taiwan. Qingshui was under the jurisdiction of Zhuluo county. After that, in the first year of Yongzheng and the 14th year of Guangxu, it went through the establishment of Changhua County and Taiwan County. After Taichung hall was set up in 1901 during the Japanese occupation period of Taiwan, Qingshui was under the hall of Niu scolding head“

”。 In 1920, the Governor General's office of Taiwan implemented the "five prefectures and two departments" system. Taichung and Nantou were merged into Taichung Prefecture, and Qingshui was changed into "Qingshui Street" in Dajia County of Taichung Prefecture. Yang Zhaojia, the first mayor of Qingshui street, changed niushoutou to "Qingshui" because of the clear and sweet local water quality. This name with Japanese style has been used to this day. Before the Taichung earthquake in Hsinchu in 1935, the political and business centers of Qingshui were concentrated in the area of Dajie road. In the early days, Dajie road was quite prosperous, such as Maoxi inspection office, post office, electric and fire bureau, waterworks, consumer market, light station, etc. the famous xinghuatian restaurant and Korean building were also located here. In addition, the local hotel and Yamamoto hotel were also available for outsiders to stay, so we can see where they are Although the later Dajia military station has moved to the newly built Junjun Road (today's Zhongshan Road on line 1 of Taiwan), the governor's office also intends to move the government and commercial organs to Lujun road in succession, but generally speaking, the prosperity of Dajia road has been maintained until the central earthquake. After the Taichung earthquake in Hsinchu, the governor's office launched a comprehensive urban renewal in Central Taiwan. Qingshui's urban reconstruction plan adopted chessboard streets. After the government and commercial authorities moved to Lujun Road, Qingshui's center of gravity officially moved to the West. Today, Zhongshan Road, Guangfu street and Xinxing road are still the most prosperous and bustling areas in Qingshui. In the 16th year of Showa (1941), the governor's office of Taiwan had drawn up a plan to merge Dajia, Qingshui, Shalu, Wuqi and Longjing into the third city under the jurisdiction of Taichung Prefecture, Gaogao city. The construction of new Gaogang (now Taichung port) was started earlier in the 14th year of showa. However, due to the lack of funds caused by the Pacific War, the construction plan of new Gaogang, which had completed 60% of the total project in just five years, was completed Showa was officially shut down in 19, and the plan for setting up new Gaokao city came to an end. In 1945, after the government of the Republic of China took over Taiwan, it changed the counties into counties, the streets into towns, and the villages into townships. At first, it was planned to change Dajia County into Dajia County, so as to continue the construction plan of Gaokao city. However, because the plan was unrealistic, it was terminated by the office of the chief executive of Taiwan, so Qingshui was changed to Dajia District of Taichung County“

”。 In 1950, according to the outline for the implementation of local autonomy in counties and cities of Taiwan Province, the regional administration was abolished, and Qingshui was renamed Qingshui Town, Taichung County. On December 25, 2010, Taichung County and city merged and upgraded to a municipality directly under the central government, and Qingshui was transformed into Taichung city“
