Beishi town is located in the Rocky Mountain Area in the east of Gaoping City. Beishi village, where the town government is stationed, is 14.9 km away from Gaoping City. The territory is mostly hilly areas with an average altitude of 888.9-1210 meters. It is bounded by Songshan and Lingchuan County (Liyi town) in the northeast, Mishan town of Gaoping City in the west, Shimo Township in the South and Chenqu town and Jianning Township in the north. The area is 9km wide from east to west and 12km vertical from north to south, with a total area of 76.54 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over 37 administrative villages, 38 natural villages, 148 villager groups, permanent population of 29416 (2017), cultivated land area of 49239 mu, and 11 Township units. Beishi commune was established in 1962 and the town was established in 1984. In 2001, the township administrative divisions of Gaoping City were adjusted (Jin Zheng Han No.7; Jin Shi Zheng FA No.5 on January 10), yongwan Township and Beishi town were abolished, and a new Beishi town was established.
