Chengwen town
Chengwen Town, belonging to Chengduo County, Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province, is located in the southwest of Chengduo County, east of Tongtian River and west of Zhaqu (River) in the valleys and mountains of Southern Qinghai Plateau, east of Zhenqin town and south of Labu Township, West and southwest of Yushu County across Tongtian River and north of gaduo township. In 2018, the area of the town was 1007.79 square kilometers, and the registered residence population was 7072.
In October 2019, Chengwen town governs 4 communities and 11 administrative villages.
The agricultural cultivated land area of Chengwen town is 28000 mu, and the grassland area is 2.06 million mu, of which the usable grassland area is 1.173 million mu; at the end of 2011, there are only a limited number of individual catering service industries and small commodity retail.
Historical evolution
On November 3, 1956, wenshauge was established.
In 1963, it was named Wenxiang.
In 1970, it was renamed Wen commune.
In 1984, it was called Wenxiang again.
On October 15, 2001, saihe and Chengwen townships were abolished and Chengwen town was merged.

Chengwen town is located to the east of Tongtian River and to the west of Zhaqu river. The terrain is high in the East and low in the West. The average altitude is about 3900 meters. The seat of the government is 3825 meters above sea level. It is surrounded by mountains with an altitude of more than 5000 meters, such as Le saizari, Keba mountain, lachang rangdong and caiyibadong.

Chengwen town has a humid climate in the sub frigid zone of the plateau, with large daily temperature difference and small annual temperature difference. There is only cold and warm season in the whole year, and there is no obvious division of four seasons. The climate in the warm season is cool, and it is relatively humid under the influence of the southwest monsoon of the Indian Ocean and the southeast monsoon of the Pacific Ocean. The cold season is cold and windy. The vertical zonality is obvious in the territory. In the area above 4000 meters above sea level, the annual average temperature is below 0 ℃, and the annual precipitation is more than 450 mm. In the area below 4000 meters above sea level, the annual average temperature is above 0 ℃, and the annual precipitation is 374-721.2 mm. The distribution is very uneven. The number of precipitation days is 130-160 days, and the daily maximum precipitation is 36.5 mm. The first snow is from September to October, and the last snow is from May to June The measurement range is 1430-1615 mm. The solar radiation is strong and the sunshine time is long. It is the prone and frequently occurring area of meteorological disasters such as dry early, snow disaster in winter and spring, frost, hail and so on.

There are mainly gold, copper and other mineral resources in Chengwen town. There are many kinds of wild plants, such as rhubarb, Rhodiola, Saussurea medusa, Ganoderma ovale, Trollius qinghaiensis, sea cucumber in North Sichuan, Polygonum multiflorum, Gentiana straminea, ephedra, Astragalus membranaceus, gentian, etc. There are nearly 100 species of wild animals in existence, including Tibetan wild donkey, white lipped deer, musk deer, snow leopard, brown bear, argali, rock sheep, red fox, lynx, Tibetan gazelle, marmot, Golden Eagle, Tibetan snow chicken, Hu vulture, big spotted goose, gray goose, etc. Freshwater fish are abundant in rivers and lakes, especially Artemia, gymnocheilus pachynchus and gymnocyprinus variegatus.

History and culture
In May 2018, a total of 609 ancient rock paintings were found in Bailong village, Chengwen Town, belonging to 143 rock painting groups, covering animals, people, nature, stars, etc. One of the rock paintings depicts a standing figure holding a flag like object in his left hand and waving or saluting in his right hand. From the mouth shape, it seems to be shouting and the picture is vivid. The pattern is rare in the ancient rock paintings of the same period.

Located in the hinterland of the Qinghai Tibet Plateau, Chengwen town is an ideal place for sightseeing, scientific investigation, river exploration, wildlife viewing, photography, mountaineering and other tourism and sports activities. "Nalongcangba" and "bailongzhuo dance" in Bailong village, "gazangsi" in songdang village, and "wushiwu" in Xuewu village have a long history and precious value since the tribal period. Bailongzhuo dance is recognized as the classic of Zhuo dance in Tibetan area and listed as the national intangible cultural heritage.
