Hongtai Township

Hongtai Township, belonging to Linxia County, Linxia Hui Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province, is located in the northeast of Linxia County, adjacent to Luhan town of Linxia city in the East, Xinji Town in the south, Hanji town in the southwest, zhangzigou Township and Yingtan Township in the West and jinggou Township in the north. The area is 49.15 square kilometers. In 2018, 18225 people registered residence.

In 1950, it was changed into a new district. In 1952, Hongshui township of Xinji District governed 12 townships. In 1955, the district was withdrawn and the township was merged. In 1958, Hongtai people's commune was established, with 18 brigades under its jurisdiction. At the end of 1958, Linxia county was abolished and subordinate to Linxia city. In 1961, a small commune was designated, and Hongtai commune was established in this area. In December 1961, Linxia county was restored, and Hongtai township was subordinate to Linxia county. In October 2019, Hongtai village governs 10 administrative villages.

In 2018, there were 20 industrial enterprises in Hongtai Township and 18 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
