Shuangtu town
Shuangtu Town, subordinate to Yunyang County of Chongqing, is located in the northeast of Yunyang County, adjacent to Shimen Township and Taiyang Township in the East, Donglu Township in the south, Nanxi town in the west, Jiangkou Town and Sangping town in the north, 68 km away from the residence of Yunyang County Government, with a total area of 90.4 square kilometers.
During the reign of Guangxu and Xuantong in the Qing Dynasty, shuangtu town belonged to Nanxi township; in September 1992, the three townships of Tapeng, Wuliang and Baotou merged to form shuangtu town. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in Bendu town was 35504. As of June 2020, shuangtu town has 1 community and 10 administrative villages.
The main food crops in shuangtu town are rice, corn, wheat, potato, sweet potato and soybean; the main animal husbandry is raising pigs, cattle, sheep and poultry. History of construction
During the reign of Emperor Guangxu and Emperor Xuantong of the Qing Dynasty, Nanxi township was the territory.
In 1930, shuangtu township was established. In 1933, Jiming township was merged into shuangtu township. In 1942, it was transferred to the fifth guidance area.
In February 1953, four villages were designated from shuangtu township to establish Baobao Township, and three villages were designated to establish Wuliang township.
In October 1956, shuangtu township was merged into Baobao township.
In October 1958, Baobao township was changed into Baobao commune.
In December 1961, four brigades were set up to build Wuliang commune.
In February 1981, Wuliang commune and Baotou commune were changed to townships respectively.
In September 1992, Tapeng Township, Wuliang Township and Baobao Township merged to form shuangtu town.
