Xiahan village is located 6 kilometers northwest of the county seat, and the big five tourism line runs through it, with convenient transportation and information. Except Xiahan village, Zhonghan village and xixinfang village, all of Xiahan village are located in Pingchuan with flat terrain. The average temperature in January is - 6.3 ℃, the average temperature in July is 20.1 ℃, and the accumulated temperature is about 2700 ℃. The annual rainfall is 500mm and the frost free period is 125-128 days.

Hunyuan County governs the township. Xiahan commune was established in 1961 and changed to township in 1984. Located in the northwest of the county, 6 kilometers away from the county government. It covers an area of 28.15 square kilometers and has a permanent population of 9840 (2017). The road is open. It has nine village committees: Han, China and South Korea, xixingfang, huatuan, Shizhuang, Mazhuang, Shenxi, tuqiaopu and cangjingzhuang. Agriculture mainly produces corn, millet and potato. There are 14 Han tombs.
Historical evolution
Xiahan village, with the same name recorded in Hunyuan Prefecture annals. According to legend, there was no village in this area. In Wuli, northwest of the current village site, there was a village dominated by Han family. Later, due to the population development, some Han family residents moved to build two new villages, forming three Han villages. Two of them were on the slope, and the village was in the lower part of Sichuan, so it was named Xiahan village. After the liberation of Hunyuan County in 1945, there were Mazhuang, huatuan, Shenxi and other townships in the current commune area. In 1958, the people's commune was divided into three communes: Chengguan, Xiliu and caicun. In 1961, Xiahan village people's commune was established. In 1984, Xiahan village people's commune was changed into Xiahan Village Township, with nine administrative villages under its jurisdiction. Shenxi village and tuqiaopu village were divided into Chengguan Town, which is now Yong'an town.

The township covers an area of 28.15 square kilometers, with 25911.34 mu of cultivated land, including 11240 mu of irrigated land. After returning farmland to forest of 4802.32 mu, the grain field area is 21109.02 mu, 1.87 mu per capita. Is a pure agricultural township, the leading industry is mainly planting.
