Xiehu town

Xiehu town is subordinate to Lantian County, Xi'an City, Shaanxi Province. It connects Sanli town in the East, Mengcun town in the south, Huaxu town in the West and Qinling street in Lintong District in the north, with a total area of 94.89 square kilometers.

The origin of place names

In the Tang Dynasty, the spring here was named Yanhu, and later evolved into xiehu.

History of construction

In 1964, Professor Jia Lanpo, academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, came to Lantian for archaeology. He excavated the mandible of ape man 650000 years ago in CHENJIAWO, xiehu, and excavated the ancient remains in Shilipu. All these have proved the derivative change and development of human beings.
