Kunsha Township
It is a township under the jurisdiction of Gar County in Ali Prefecture of Tibet. From 1686 to 1965, it was the capital of Ali Prefecture (the winter capital in Qing Dynasty).
Located in the middle of the county, 60 kilometers south of Shiquanhe town. It is connected with Shiquanhe town in the north, zhaxigang Township in the west, Zhada County in the southwest and MenShi Township in the southeast. It is 58 kilometers away from Shiquanhe town in Gar county.
The township has a total area of 2644 square kilometers. Now it has jurisdiction over three administrative villages, namely, garxin village, namuru village and somai village, with 10 operation teams. There are well-known Ali kunsha airport and kunsha modern agriculture and animal husbandry science and technology demonstration park.
The permanent population is 2286 (2017).

In the Qing Dynasty, it was called karkunsha (kunsa). "Gar" means camp in Tibetan. Gar is a combination of the two places, namely "garyasa" and "garkunsa". "Yasa" refers to the place to live in summer, "kunsa" refers to the place to live in winter. Source: in 1681, Drainange, king of Ladakh, sent troops to attack Ali area. In 2013, there were 622 households and 2177 farmers and herdsmen in the township, including 212 households and 584 people in Geer new village, 202 households and 817 people in namuru village and 208 households and 776 people in somai village. 2286 permanent residents (2017).

Kunsha township is a semi farming and semi pastoral township. In 2012, the per capita net income of farmers and herdsmen was 5310 yuan. There is a well-known kunsha modern agriculture and animal husbandry science and technology demonstration park.

National Highway G219 crosses the township from northwest to Southeast.
Culture and education
In March 2015, there were two schools in the township (complete primary school in kunsha Township and kindergarten in kunsha township), with 35 senior high school students, 145 junior high school students, 82 primary school students and 6 full-time primary school teachers.

In 2013, there were 209 party members in the township, including 25 party members from township organs, 54 party members from gerxin village, 66 party members from namuru village and 64 party members from somai village.

Kunsha airport is built in the territory. the construction of alikunsha Airport started in May 2007, covering a total area of 3613 mu. The runway length of the airport is 4500 meters, and the flight area is grade 4D, which can meet the take-off and landing requirements of Airbus A319 and other plateau aircraft. The building area of the terminal is about 3900 square meters, and the designed annual passenger throughput is 120000. the navigation of alikunsha airport will fill the gap of civil aviation transportation in Northwest Tibet. Kunsha airport is 4274m above sea level. In this phase, the runway is 4500m long and 45m wide, with 51000 square meters of tarmac and four stands. The terminal building covers an area of 3970 square meters, with air traffic control building, tower, communication and navigation, meteorological and other air traffic control projects.
