Dianzhong town is located in the north east of Eshan County, adjacent to hongtaluohe Township in the East, Chahe Township in the south, Dalongtan Township in the northwest, Shijie Township in Yimen County in the north and Xiyang Township in Jinning County in the northeast. Yi'e highway passes through the market town. It is the cargo distribution center of Yuxi, Jinning, Yimen and Eshan county. Historical evolution

Dianzhong Town, formerly known as qiongchuan, was built in the early Yuan Dynasty. From the emperor Shizu of Yuan Dynasty to the 13th (1276) of Yuan Dynasty, qiongchuan county was set up, which was under the jurisdiction of qiongezhou. In the 26th year of the Yuan Dynasty (1289), it was reduced to Xiang and liqiongchuan county. During the reign of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty, it was divided into three townships, namely, qiongchuantou Township, qiongchuanzhong Township and qiongchuanwei township. Later, it was renamed Diantou Township, Dianzhong Township and Dianwei township. In 1934, Dianzhong Town, Huichuan, Lingqiu and Wenxing were designated as the third district. In 1938, Dianzhong town and Wenxing Township belonged to Taihe Township in the South and mi'an Township in Yuanshan and Longfeng in the north.
