Yunxian Yi cultural and entertainment township is newly established after the merger of Yunxian Township and Zhendong Township on March 18, 2006, commonly known as "Dalu mountain". It is located in the northwest of Simao District, Pu'er City, Yunnan Province, 57 km away from Simao City, connecting Dehua township of Ning'er County in the Northeast, Nanping Town in the southeast, Nanbang River and Pu'er river across the river from Liushun Township in the southwest, xiaoheihe River and Jinggu County in the northwest Bi'An and Yizhi are adjacent to each other.
The township has an administrative area of 330 square kilometers and a permanent population of 11192 (2017). There are more than ten ethnic groups, including Han, Yi, Dai, WA, Bai, Yao and so on. The main ethnic group is Yi.

The terrain in the township is long from north to South and narrow from east to west, high in the West and low in the East. The highest altitude is 2154 meters in Dalu mountain, which is the highest peak in Simao district; the lowest altitude is 680 meters in the Southern Song estuary of Xiaoheijiang River; the relative height difference is 1475 meters.
