Dege County governs the township. Before liberation, it was under the jurisdiction of Lincong chieftain. Suoba township was established in 1957, changed into a commune in 1974, and resumed in 1984. Located in the north of the county, 217 km away from the county. Covering an area of 283.2 square kilometers, the township has 494 households and a population of 2035. It has jurisdiction over three village committees: motong, Mangbu and Oko. There are 56 non-agricultural population, 156 poverty-stricken households, 812 poverty-stricken households, 144 low-income households, 408 poverty-stricken households, 23 poverty-stricken households, 4 urban low-income households, 14 non-agricultural households, 901 rural old-age insurance participants. Rural medical insurance has reached coverage, and all villages have access to roads.
