Taixia Township, a town under the jurisdiction of southern county of Nanchong City, Sichuan Province, is adjacent to tiebian Township in the East, Daping and Shenba in the south, Xihe and Dianya in the north, Tongping and Dianya in the west, and 120 km away from the county seat. The climate is subtropical humid monsoon climate. Most areas of the township have high hills, steep slopes and small soil masses. The stratum is yellow red purple mud soil formed by parent materials of Cretaceous Bailong formation and Cangxi formation. It has high fertility and great productive potential. The township covers an area of 33.25 square kilometers. It has jurisdiction over seven administrative villages, including Qianjin, Nanshan, Honghua, Yingxiong, Gaohe, Xianfeng and Xishui, with 66 communities, a total population of 7099 (2017), and cultivated land of 0.48 mu per capita.
In October 2019, Xihe township will be abolished and its administrative area will be put under the jurisdiction of taixia township. The people's Government of taixia township will be stationed at No.1 Zhengjie street.
General situation of villages and towns
Taixia township is one of the base towns which mainly produce grain and oil, sericulture, walnut and live pig. The main food is rice, wheat, corn, sweet potato and so on. The economic crops are mainly rape and peanut. The long-term industry is mainly sericulture and walnut. The minor grains are mainly mung bean, pea and soybean. In 2006, the total agricultural output value of the township was 17 million yuan, the annual output of grain was 3580 tons, and the per capita net income of farmers was 2300 yuan.
Taixia township has 1 health center, 7 village health stations, 1 nursing home and 1 rural primary school. By the end of 2016, there were nearly 44 home computers; by June 2017, all telecom optical fibers in the township had been opened, and one mobile, one Unicom and one telecom base station had been built. The construction area of the town is 0.5 square kilometers, with 500 residents. The market trade is very active. The forest coverage rate is 40%. industrial structure
Taixia Township tends to focus on agriculture. Over the years, efforts have been made to adjust the agricultural industrial structure. The ratio of grain to economy has reached 5:5, and the planting areas of rape, peanut and vegetables have been expanded. In agricultural production, advanced cultivation techniques have been vigorously promoted, and the yield has been continuously improved. By the end of 2004, the total grain output of the township reached 2959 tons, and the per capita output was 457 kg. While grain production is not relaxed, animal husbandry and sideline fisheries are developed in an all-round way, and agriculture, industry and commerce are managed in an all-round way. In 2004, the township raised 1700 silkworms, 3880 live pigs, 11000 goats, 160000 chickens, ducks and geese, 600 mu of fish in ponds, weirs and river blocks, 3 new private enterprises, 1 million yuan of foreign investment, and the surplus labor force engaged in labor export. The number of labor export reached 2000, and the labor income was 7.2 million yuan.
