Shizhuang town belongs to Rugao City, Jiangsu Province, with a total area of 85.06 square kilometers and a population of 73979 (2017). Located in the southwest of Rugao, facing Zhangjiagang City across the Yangtze River in the South and Jingjiang City in the southwest, it is located in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River Plain. It has a history and culture of more than 1600 years. It is the education, culture and medical center town in the South of Rugao. Shizhuang town is close to the North Bank of the Yangtze River. Ningtong highway, 336 provincial highway, Riverside highway and Puhuang highway cross the East and West. Rugang highway and xinwangshi highway run through the north and south. Rugao port and Lianshen route run through the hinterland to the Yangtze River and enter the sea. It is within the radiation range of Shanghai 90 minute economic circle.

In December 2019, Shizhuang town was selected as "civilized town of Jiangsu Province in 2016-2018".

In July 2020, the National Patriotic Health Association decided to name Shizhuang town as a national health Township in the period of 2017-2019.

Transportation

Shizhuang Town, Rugao City, Jiangsu Province is located in the 1.5-hour economic circle of Shanghai, China, the channel of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, and the center of the Yangtze River Delta. It is 127 kilometers away from Wusongkou, Shanghai, and across the river from Shanghai, Suzhou and Wuxi. It is close to Rugao port, a national first-class open port, and has the most potential deep-water coastline and vast land resources in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. It is an important part of the development along the Yangtze River in Jiangsu Province. The town has five-star hotels, four-star high schools and two-level comprehensive public hospitals. History and culture

The riverside area in the south of Rugao used to be a sandbank in the river. Linjiang county was built here in 411, the seventh year of Yixi in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, belonging to the South Yanzhou. In the Later Zhou Dynasty, Linjiang was incorporated into Ninghai County. In the Five Dynasties, the surname Shi lived together, because of the name "Shizhuang". It is 100 li away from the county. In the Northern Song Dynasty, Wang Guanyou wrote the poem "nine days stone village blocking rain". Wu Meng of the Song Dynasty also had the book "berthing at night in Shizhuang harbor": "the line cuts off the Huaihe River and flows into the Yangtze River. In the third year of Yongle in the Ming Dynasty (1405), the river bank collapsed for 60 Li, and the millennium old town was submerged in the river. Later, Shizhuang town was rebuilt 40 miles north of the original site on the West Bank of Longyou River, 60 miles northeast of the county. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the trade between Rugao and Jiangnan came from Longyou river. In the late Qing Dynasty, there was zhanghuanggang 12 miles southwest of Shizhuang Town, which was the only waterway in Rugao, from which Longyou River and Jiaohe River entered. Jiaogang is connected to Jiangyan, Qutang, Hai'an to Taizhou, Yangzhou and Lixia River in the north. Fishing boats along the river are often moored here. Industry and commerce flourished. Around 1930, due to the expansion of sand into land, the port gradually silted up, and the water transportation moved eastward to Xinsheng port and Tiansheng port. Xinshenggang is located 10 Li to the east of Shizhuang town. It was built in the early Republic of China and has a car road to the north of Rucheng. Shanghai dada and Datong each have four ships operating here. After the Japanese invasion, the ships stopped and Xinsheng port was left out in the cold. Later, the second and the first cases rose and Xinsheng port became inland. Shizhuang is the largest town in the south of the county. Because of the original zhupailing in the south of Mohe mountain, it belongs to ancient Shizhuang, so it is also called "Zhuling town". The nearby rural areas are prolific in cotton cloth, and there are many cloth lines in the town, so it is called "Shizhuang line". The main street is north-south, the roadway is vertical and horizontal, densely populated. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the inspection department was set up in Shizhuang, and the garrison was responsible for water and land security. They are purchased by cloth companies and sold in Lixiahe and the three eastern provinces. Some are sold in white; some are dyed in cyan or blue with indigo produced locally; or the yarn is first dyed in cyan or black and woven into "wicker", "silver silk grid", "Lufei painting" and other varieties; some are also dyed into calico. At that time, "Shizhuang Dabu" was as famous as "TongZhou Dabu". Mulberry field becomes sea, and sea also becomes mulberry field. 600 years ago, gushizhuang collapsed into the Yangtze River. In the past 80 years, a number of sandbanks have gradually increased along the Yangtze River, some of which have been connected to the land. In the south of today's Shizhuang, Rugao deep-water port area has been built, with numerous workshops and giant ships shuttling, becoming the South Gate of Rugao.

At present, it has eight provincial and municipal cultural security units, including Tang's old house in Shizhuang, Jin Taixi pawn shop, former residence of overseas Chinese Zhang Decheng, former residence of academician min in Song Dynasty, former site of shengtaihe drugstore, Shizhuang sauce and vinegar factory, and Japanese invasion bunker (Shizhuang Zibao).

Famous people

According to Rugao county annals, "Li Yu (1611-1680), a famous opera theorist in the Qing Dynasty, was banished to fan and named Li Weng. He was born in Shizhuang, Rugao Li Yuya is good at writing novels and dramas, especially in drama theory. Today, he is known as "Oriental Shakespeare", and he also has many brilliant and unique views on diet.

Min Naiben (August 9, 1935 - September 16, 2018), physicist and material scientist. He is from Shizhuang, Rugao, Jiangsu Province. At present, he is the director of the laboratory of solid microstructure physics of Nanjing University, the director of the Institute of materials science, the director of the National Center for research and development of intraocular lens, the director of the Chinese crystal society, the chairman of the steering committee of materials science and engineering of the Ministry of education of China, the deputy director of the science and Technology Committee of the Ministry of education, and the deputy director of the Department of mathematics and physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Min Naiben's research fields include crystal growth, nonlinear optical materials, optical superlattices, etc. He is the chief scientist of "photoelectric functional materials" project of national climbing plan and national 973 Plan.

Min Naida, born in Shizhuang, Rugao, Jiangsu Province, is a famous German Chinese mathematician and computer expert. Min Naida was very intelligent and had excellent academic performance. After graduating from high school, he was admitted to Tsinghua University in Beijing.

Professor Min has made great achievements in his scientific journey of more than 60 years. He has published a large number of books and papers, including more than 10 monographs.

In 1995, he published a new theory of real numbers, especially on "zero" and "infinity". After the publication of this book, it attracted extensive attention of the academic circles and promoted the further study of this problem.

Professor Min's scientific research achievements have been applied not only in the field of telecommunications, but also in atomic energy and many other disciplines. He has sent letters to the Massachusetts Institute of technology, the linear atomic reaction center in Vienna, the University of Wisconsin in the United States, or to the University of Wisconsin in the United States.

Despite his age, Professor Min is planning to publish a sequel to the new theory of real numbers, especially on "zero" and "infinity", and continue to roam in the palace of science.
